Hi, We had a room overlooking the Promenade on the Mariner in May of 07 ( See my review.). It was different but nothingspecial.You can see your neighbors opposite you& they can see you so unless you're into exhibitionism, your drapes will be closed most of the timeyour drapes will be closed..We also were almost at the end of the promenade so that made for less of a view.Try to be placed in the middle. It's definitely better than a standard inside cabin . If your used a balcony room , you probably will be disappointed.We don't spend a lot of time in our rooms so we had a great cruise and the room was a room .Enjoy your cruise. There really is no such thing as a bad one.All the best,
