Price drop

Einstein, You said that there is a possibly of a price drop in the future .
In the past couple of group cruises was there a price drop and if there was one
how much was it.
I have cruise 14 times and never had one or my TA never told me about it.
Dropping the price ,is that something rare or it happens sometimes.

Earl ... To answer your question YES there have been MANY price drops on our group cruises. As for the specific details I can NOT recall ALL of them in regards to the amounts discounted. I will reccall the last two Group cruises for examples.

On the Amigos in April of 2007 there was a price drop of about $500 per cabin from original booking price to final payment.

On the Emerald there was NO price drop and in fact there wasa significant increase because of the popularity of the Emerald.

So it REALLY ALL depends on the popularity of the sailing as well as a few other details that get involved in the pricing. Its just my hunch that the price could drop on the Jewel with the main reason being that the Panama Canal tends NOT to be a popular cruise in MANY folks eyes. One reason that their is a lack of popularity is the ports of call which tend NOT to include the favs of MANY like the S. Caribbean ports and St. Thomas.

Another factor reducing the popularity is the increased surchages because of the transit of teh canal. Also factor in that there will be couple of other ships doing the same exact itinerary with their pricing being less than the Jewel. All these factors tend to lean toward some type of reduction in pricing. So whether my hunch is correct or NOT will be determined in the next 9 months so cross your fingers and toes. :lol

One thing I can guarantee is that if there IS a reduction in pricing before final payment U will be contacted by Skyscraper Tour asking if U would prefer a cabin upgrade or a price reduction as that is usually how they handle it or have in the past anyways.

I ALWAYS look at it as a sorta BONUS. If it happens then its a BIG Plus and if NOT then like U said .. WE WILL still be cruisin. :dance

Yes now that U mention it I believe we did Denise. :thumb If I had to guess I would say that we have had a price reduction on at least 50% of the Group cruises and that percentage is erring on the low side. :dance
