If anyone is booked on Statendam...or considering booking her, I'd sugget you check out a review I just read on the HAL board of CC. "Statendam Mexico Riveria 10/21- 10/31" by "cauny".

It is one of the best reviews I have ever read.....

Even if you aren't considering this ship, the review is so excellent it's worth reading anyway.

No way, John.........Maasdam rates first for me!!!! Just thought this was a great review of one of "My Loves's" sisters.

(Gotta admit though, I do really love Zaandam, too) If you were happy on Maasdam, you'll also love Zaandam She, too, has the special quality that is so rare....a fantastically increcdible crew.)

Lucky you, Kimberly. I hope you love that ship as much as we do....just ignore the ugly (IMO) atrium centerpiece. Have no idea what they were thinking when the chose that horrid looking thing. But, who cares??? Didn't effect our enjoyment one little bit

Sail - haven't been on Zaandam, but Volendam is my favorite. She, too, is a gorgeous ship (floral theme decor versus Zaandam's music theme) but has the gosh-ugliest center piece in her atrium! We've nicknamed "it" The Juke Box!

Maven...lol....perfect name for Volendam's centerpiece! If you think her's is not the ship's best feature...wait until you see Zaandam's.

We had a wonderful cruise the one time we cruised Voldendam...I'd go back in a minute. Surely plan to some day. I think her a beautiful ship (as well as her sister).

But, you know me.....if the ship flies an HAL flag, then I love the "dam" ship! (with the exception of Noordam )
