kitten, I agree that Canada/New England shouldn't be ruled out as a cruise possibility. We've been on about half a dozen of them and can't get enough of these itineraries. The scenery is stunning. One idea, if you are reluctant about New York, is to cruise out of Boston. Logan Airport is within a $20 ride of the city and hotels are a lot less expensive. Delta flies nonstop from your airport...done it plenty of times on business. And, as the departure port is further north, you'll be able to see a bit more of Canada or even go into Maine. The only thing is that Carnival does not cruise out of here... but Royal Caribbean does, and has done so for at least 10 years.
