Hey,

Just came back from a weekend in NYC. Stayed at the Wellington on 7th ave and 55th. Costs us $155 a night and was two blocks (walkable) south of central park and 8 blocks north of times square. The rooms are decent size for NYC just ask for a remodeled room. When we were there it was about 2/3 remodeled. We took a boat ride around manhattan from the pier next to the cruise pier Carnival uses. That cost us $7.50 plus tip in a cab and took 15 minutes. The skyline was great if you like city skylines and your route out of the river will take you right past the Statue of Liberty. Hotel had a good cafe right at the corner, there was a pizza joint across one corner and a good deli across the other. All kinds of restaurants down 7th ave including Applebee's and Olive Garden. Never flown in but both times the wife and I were there it was very easy to get around the city. Like the old saying goes "It's a great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there".

Hope you reconsider. I live in upstate New Hampshire and there is nothing I've seen in California, Nebraska, and Massachusetts that compares to the mountains here in the fall. Colors in nature you can't believe and they go on for miles. It's why we live here. Cold winters with lots of snow, lots of rain and mud in spring, hot and humid in summer, and it's all worth it for the crisp fall day with incredible sights all around you.

We've only cruised 4 times, all out of Miami, but have been looking at one out of NY. Might be that one as my wife has never been to New Brunswick or Nova Scotia.

Good luck and keep cruising,

Chris
