Thanks for the information.  The ship (Brilliance) will be just going to Gatun Lake from the east side.  Sounds like the excursion is the same one you took lainie.  Think we will stay with going on the ferry.  Just one more question - was it really, really hot.  Should I take a lot of water with us or is there some bottled water available on the ferry?  Thanks!
