Curevo Rick mention a few posts back, this was a incredible excursion. I would do it again in a heart beat. FYI the boat is more like a river bus with a cover for shade. I was using my very first digital camera, Kodak Easy Share. Can you imagine if you have a SLR

Jungle River Eco-Adventure

Travel to the region hailed as Costa Rica?s Amazon for a leisurely boat ride through the rain forest.

WHAT YOU VISIT
Board your air-conditioned transportation for the approximately one-and-a-quarter-hour drive to Costa Rica?s Tortuguero Canal region. The canals are part of the river network that parallels the coast. On arrival, enjoy a buffet of fresh tropical fruits and a complimentary beer or soft drink as you listen to the sounds of live calypso music. Then board your covered mawamba boat for a leisurely two-hour cruise through the jungle canals. Your guide explains the rain forest ecosystem and points out sights of interest. Keep an eye out for wildlife including howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, and crocodiles as well as exotic flora. At the end of your cruise board your waiting transportation for the short transfer to the ship.

Have a great time, looking forward to hearing what you think.

Jeanie, this also looks like something I would enjoy. we did the white water rafting, and it was a bit like this.. only the water was rougher :lol
we boarded a very plush bus and drove out into the country, we stopped at a lovely place to get refreshments, and one of their endangered frogs when under the bus, the driver would not move until it was caught and removed to safety.
Then we drove to the river where we boarded our rafts for a great ride. we also saw some wildlife during it.
Our guide was terrific.
There is an album in the gallery. here is the link.

unfortunately during an upgrade, they got messed up again, so are not in order, and they are unnamed. One thing to keep in mind when loading photos to cruise addicts gallery is to name your photos first. for instance. if the photo file is something like PW23456 and you load it that way, then use the site to add your description. unfortunately if the gallery is upgraded, the whole lot will revert to those file numbers, and you will lose the descriptions. But if I had changed the names of each photo before uploading, then at least I would have that.
Nut it will show you the ports, and the great places to see.

Thanks for share Jeanne and REd. Know we can't do white waer rafting something I always wanted to do but that bus as described maybe we could.

We did want to do something like this, be down on the water, but we could never get Wilbur in and out of any type of a small boat right now. So we'll hopefully do the Hacienda Experience. Maw, if you and Paw want to go with us you are more than welcome. :)
