I received this from Mgram today.
​

"I'm sure that you remember HeatherBC from Victoria. On the 11th, she lost Jake in the blink of an eye. He was buried today. Seconds after calling her from his truck to say he was heading home from his part-time job, he had a massive heart attack and died in the parking lot. He was 65."

Heather and Jake were a big part of this board for many years.

Once again Einstein and I offer our prayers and our sympathy to yet another member of the cruise addicts family.


Heather would like to hear from any of you that remember them, and so if you wish to write to her, please send a pm to me and I will give you her address.

It was suck a shock for the Phlock when we heard about Heather's loss...she has been in our thoughts and prayers. Too much sad news....

when Pat told me last night, that was the first I had heard about it, and I asked her if she would post it, and asked her to let me know when she did it so that I could make both posts (here and on the aft deck) 'stickys"
Also so that I could lock the aft deck thread.
She said to go ahead and do it. But it hurt to add another one of these notifications to the board.

I think we are all reeling.. with three such notifications in 27 days.

Yes, I was so shocked about this when Denise and I talked on Sunday! So many going too fast from us!

This was such a shock to the PHLOCK, as Denise has said. This is just too much absorb. It has gotten to a point that I hate to open my email or answer the phone. And, with our neighbors death Sunday, I am just on overload. His family is arriving this morning. One all the way from the Arctic Circle where he was testing navigation equipment. Since we never went into the house, we do not know what he will find upon entering.

So Val, I will join you.......let's just crawl under the bed with our dust bunnies and suck our thumbs for a while. Thank you for posting the lovely tribute for Jake. I should not have asked you to do it last night.....I'm so sorry.

Please do not say that you are sorry,
They were contributing members of this community for years, and a very nice couple.
I remember a photo of them holding up a big Red Stripe of paper or duct tape while standing in Buchart gardens, And how one year they sent a subscription to me of their local area magazine so that I could share in the beauty of where they lived.

And how amused they were when they wanted a photo of the both of them together when they were going on a cruise.. and they sent two photos, and I asked her how tall Jake was, and then grafted him into her photo.
