OK what does everyone think alternative Ports would be?

If the oil spill spreads south and prohibits the ship from getting to the Western Caribbean.

1. Key West, Nassau.
2. Sarasota, Ft Myers.

I doubt IMO there will be a change in ports as the cruiselines do NOT really care whether there is oil on the beaches where they stop. However if they do opt for an alternative I vote for Grand Turk and Labadee.

I go where ever da boat goes! My only concern is if for some reason we return to a different port. How would I get our van from Tampa. But I fugure if we can leave from there, we can return there.

We're so flexible!!!

I am more concerned that they will not be able to sail from the Port of Tampa if the oil slick is too big to get around and they reposition the ship elsewhere since I already purchased my air. I don't care where they take me once onboard because I'll be with you all and THAT is my destination :cheer:

That LABARDEE SOUNDS GOOD--ann when we were there last they took us all around in beavch wheel chairs. Nice patio with bar good view etc. Buffet there too. Niecie have that air fare also to worry abt.

Monitoring the ports of New Orleans and Mobile as they would be the most likely 1st to take action since they are going thru the largest area of oil right now. Good point on the airfare lookout Denise. I still believe that we will definitely sail out of Tampa but if we did have a port change I would hope they make it prior to us boarding the ship. :hammer: Having to make arrangements for arrival at a different port than we sailed out of would be a travel nightmare. This is a situation that the cruise lines would try to avoid at ALL possible costs. Having to make alternative travel plans for 2000+ Paxs would NOT be a friendly scenario . :madd:

Can't remember the cruise.. but one time when either destination or departure port changed.. the cruise line supplied large buses, and pax were bussed to the place.
