We will be sailing in July and the weather will be hot so my 10 and 12 year old boys will definitely take advantage of the pool. Wondering if it is OK for them to bring water guns on board. Will there be any area that they can play with the water guns without bothering fellow passengers.

What about pool toys, like noodles and beach ball? Are any of these allowed in the pool?

The pools are very small. There is no room for the floatie toys. Have them leave the water guns at home. It's too crowded and they won't be able to use them without bothering other people. They can get wet enough without the water guns. There might also be an issue with security when you're checking in. I don't think water guns would be allowed on airplanes so I doubt they'll be allowed on the ship.

Thank you for answering my question. Didn't realize the pools are small. Didn't even think of the security issue, a good point there.

Kids are happy just to be sailing on a cruise ship. Beside I am sure there are lots of activities on and off the ship to keep them busy and entertained. I am not sure if empty water pistols will be a problem or not. But the last thing I want is to get delayed for boarding, especially if there are 2,000 people behind us in line. Wouldn't want to spend the next 4 days with 2000 people who are mad at me on the same boat.

Water guns are allowed. Even real guns are allowed in checked baggage as long asthey are in a locked container with the proper forms filled out. (check out the government's website on this if you don't believe me)

After all that has happened lately, why would you want to possibly cause any trouble by bringing a gun (play or otherwise) along? Just seems so unnecessary to me. I fly to Europe quite often, and have been nervous doing so after 9/11. For everyone's peace-of-mind, I would leave them at home. The kids will have plenty of fun without them anyway.

You know what I think? (imho ) :) water guns are bright and colorful and PLASTIC lol they are made that way because of recent events... I have three kiddoes of my own, and I would bring them!! and probably join in the fun onboard with them. Let the kids have some fun.. they may get bored with everything else on board??? This is the add generation after all lol :)

go for it and have a great cruise!!

And I'm telling you, with 21 years in the airline business, I wouldn't try to bring them on the plane with you. If you think the kids won't have any fun on the ship without making a nuisance of themselves with their water guns, then be sure to pack them in checked luggage, not your carry ons.

The title caught my eye as I was passing through!! :lol.....I have an eleven year old who loves water guns but I wouldn't dream of bringing one.

If you have never been on a cruise before, I don't want you to think you are going to be overcrowded or the ship too small as many first timers think........but the thought of two boys with water guns which have a range of at least 6 feet (if you were thinking of the mega ones..30 feet), getting excited and running around (hey...ever seen a boy being aimed at just stand there?) brings images of angry wet people who were trying to relax by the pool, and slippery surfaces if played in some spots.

Leave them at home. My son has never complained of boredom between the kid's programs, the arcade, movies, the buffet and the pool where he spends most of his time. If anything, think gameboy where they can sit quietly and chill out sometimes.

We just got off the Miracle on Sunday and I brought 2 medium-sized water guns for my oldest two sons, ages 5 and 3. I told them that they would not be allowed to play with them on the ship. I bought them specifically for the beach (we went to Blue Lagoon). They played with them in the water there and when it was time to leave the beach, I made them throw them in the trash can and they were okay with that. I didn't want the fuss of packing them up and bringing them back. I bought them at the Dollar Store just for this reason. (I also bought a very small set of shovels and sand toys in a wee little plastic bag that we also threw away before we left the beach.) And by the way, they didn't shoot anyone. :grin
