Dan, what a well written review. It does appear that some of the problems you encountered were products of a new ship and a major holiday with too many kids particularly on the ship. We have sailed NCL many times and have always (with one horrible exception) found embarkation and debarkation to be a breeze. Last April on a sold out Sun cruise we were on the ship and in our rooms before noon and off the ship (early flight) by 9am. In Alaska, a smaller ship, we were off by 8:15am. We did have a terrible embarkation on the old Texaribbean cruise out of Houston. It was almost as bad as the debarkation we experienced on both RCL and Carnival. Even though I am shocked at your experiences in the embar and debar catagories you wrote a very fair and valuable review. By the way, I found the deck space (chairs and lounges particularly) very lacking on the Sun as well. Of course when there are kids all over, there will be problems around any ships pool area.
