Any advice??? A little concerned about the age of the ship...I just got back from the Soverigen of the Seas...is the Empress similar?

Shannon, I haven't been on the Nordic Empress but have been on the Inspiration twice. The Inspiration is a newer ship and has a gross tonnage of 73,000 tons, as compared to 48000 tons for the Nordic.
From what I have heard, the cabins on the Nordic are small and the soundproofing supposedly isn't good.
I personally would have to pick the Inspiration because as I said I have sailed it twice and know what it is, but that's just me. Have you sailed on any other Carnival "Fantasy" class ships, such as Sensation, Fascination, Imagination, etc, if so, the Inspiration is exactly the same except for the decor.
Good luck on whichever you end up on.

yes its old but i think it will be fun.. RCCL is 1'st class all the way.. but its funny cuz the song of norway i think is what was the ship that use to do bermuda in the summer for rccl.

here is a link to the ship.. i remember seeing this ship in port when i lived in Nyc

The good old days of small ships

This ship goes to bermuda & The caribbean (in Winter from Puerto Rico). I took a cruise to Bermuda on it--the ship and staff were very nice and the amenities were excellent.

The Nordic Empress and the Majesty are two of my favorite "smaller" ships - I'd pick the Nordic Empress for sure.

I was wondering, on the Inspiration, are there signs of wear such as stained carpet, scar marks on walls, etc?
