we adopted a dog yesterday his name is Buddy he is a darling dog part cocker spaniel and part golden retriever. DH is away for a few hours so I have been sitting with him have put him out back so I can get a few things done around the house. Molly the day does not like him at all need advise on how to get the two to get along with each other. Will post a picture as soon as I figure out now to do it.

Congratulations on the new member and I am looking forward to the pictures. About how old is Buddy? My experience with introducing new "members" of the family is working closly with them (supervision) and time. Wishing you a quick intro time.

Molly is going to have the attitude that it's HER house and she wll try to dominate Buddy, to prove her point. You need to be the Alpha. YOU control Molly, so Buddy learns that you wil protect him (from Molly and all other things that are new, strange and scarey). Don't 'discipline' Molly (spankings, loud verbal, etc.). Use a firm voice, w/o excitement. Use the same command .... "Leave it!" and offer her a distraction (NOT FOOD), her favorite toy, etc. If you offer her food, she'l learn that she gets fed when she attacks Buddy .... Not a good lesson. Read up on herd/pack relationships. The Alpha male and female are the ones who control all the other pack relationships.

gee you so lucky, but its not time for a dog here, yet. My dad isnt doing to well these days with his back all hunched over in a walker, he's only 88, cant chase women anymore.

Hi Audrey! Your new member of the family is precious! I see you have a couch/lap dog just like we do. Your grandson's are pretty good looking too!

Thanks everyone we feel very lucky we have never had a dog who liked to ride in the car he sits in the back seat and you don't even know there is a dog there.

Very nice looking dog and grandsons. The dog looks so comfortable on the sofa with you. Your grandsons look like fine young men.

Congratulations on the addition of Buddy to your family. He really looks like a sweetie. I hope he brings you as much happiness as Pucci has brought me.

Your Grandsons certainly are handsome young fellows. Thanks for sharing the photos with us.
