Norwegian Cruise Line unveiled a new dining package that offers savings at three shipboard restaurants.

The Signature Trio package includes a dinner at a steakhouse, French bistro and Italian restaurant for a combined total of $47 per person.

Norwegian normally charges $25 per person for its shipboard steakhouses, $20 for its French bistros and $10 for its Italian eateries, for a total of $55 for all three, so the package saves $8 per person. But a spokesperson says the bigger value of the package lies in its convenience.

"The major benefit is reserving all three (restaurants) in advance so you don't have to worry about paying when onboard," says Norwegian spokeswoman AnneMarie Mathews.

The names of Norwegian's steakhouses vary slightly from ship to ship. On most vessels, the steakhouses are called Cagney's, but there is also Lazy J's on Norwegian's Hawaii-based Pride of America and East Meets West on the Norwegian Sun.

Le Bistro is the name of the French restaurants across the Norwegian fleet with the exception of on Pride of America, where the French eatery is called Jefferson's Bistro. The names of Italian restaurants on Norwegian ships vary widely and include La Cucina, Mama's Kitchen and il Adagio.

Norwegian says passengers must pre-purchase the Signature Trio package before sailing, either online at ncl.com or by calling the company's reservation line. The package is not available to passengers once on-board.
