One letter off (pretty common) is far less of a deal than an entire name. For example: Your (LEGAL) first name is Robert Smith , but you always go by your (LEGAL) middle name of Edward Smith....so you book under Edward Smith. When you show up at the pier, they are looking for your (LEGAL) FIRST name (Robert), and when they see you are booked under your (LEGAL) MIDDLE name of Edward, there could very well be a problem with boarding, as the name on the Manifest does not match the name on the birth certificate or Passport. Always book under your LEGAL FIRST AND LAST NAME..
