For some time after the 9/11 disaster nailclippers were confiscated at airport screening points, but that is no longer the practice. I have, however, had to surrender my money clip containing a one inch blade and nail file.

You'll be fine with your nail clippers. If you're worried about it and you're checking bags, then just pack it in your checked luggage.

We took our nail clippers with no problems last month, We bought the kind without the nail file attached. I also packed 1 nail clipper in our checked luggage just incase, as this is what we use to cut off the cable ties from our bags.

The most wasteful government agency in America now allows nail clippers.

Still, even though their web site says you can have them, you will in a few percent of the cases still have problems.

Of course, the tests have shown that guns and other weapons do get through.

I accidently took my nail clipper set onboard, well almost did. At the X-ray to go onboard they opened my bag. Within my nail clipper set was a small knife with a 1/2" blade (blunt end). The clippers were OK, the 1/2" blade with the dull point was not. They gave me the option to go ahead and give it to them, mail it home, put it in a locker, or have them place it on with luggage. I did the latter.

I knew it was wrong, but I decided to swap which bag I was going to carry on at the last minute, and carry on the lighter bag. It was my responsibility to know what was in there. Maybe if I had a few more cups of coffee that morning, I would have made sure I didn't carry it.
