My granddaughter got her stitches out today

My granddaughter got the stitches out, but still won't be able to walk without crutches for a while. The doctor put back in some small butterfly stitches that she said would fall out in about a week. She goes back next Thursday to have the swelling and bruises assessed again. But to me.....it looks soooo painful! My daugher sent this pic to me she took in the doctor's office after the stitches were taken out.

Awww, it must be uncomfortable for her. The crutches must be a pain too. How is she doing?

I remember one time when Sara was little, she caught her finger in the gate at preschool and literally popped the top of her finger off. I went to the ER when they called me, but the next day we took her to her regular pediatrician. He unwrapped her finger, said it looked pretty good, but to us, it looked like raw meat. Gordon almost passed out! But her doc said it would heal nicely, and it did. Not even a scar. It's amazing how kids can heal so well. I guess they better, or they wouldn't make it past 17!

That will be quite a 'battle scar' of her youth!

It's good to see the stitches out. May the pain and her scar fade. She is such a gorgeous girl and has a great story to tell.

She is now walking without her crutches....albeit with a limp for now. My daughter took her to the orthopedist last week just to make sure there were no ligament tears, etc., and she checked out fine. Orthpedist said she was one VERY lucky little girl!

That wound looks mighty sore. Thankfully she is young and will heal better than we old timers.
