Is it not a common law kind of thing, that when snow blowing, you do from your driveway all the way to your neighbor's without regard for the property line? I swear to you, we do it every time single time we are out first, and our neighbor to the south returns the favor. The neighbors to the north, however, go out and take great pains to stop EXACTLY at the property line. I told my husband it just makes me want to do their whole drive way next time. It's really not a big deal, and would have taken them 30 extra seconds, but they just didn't have the common courtesy to do it. For the record, I used a shovel tonight for the exercise - we've got about 4 inches so far, with 4-6 more over night. YUCK!

I know exactly what you mean Cyco. When we used to live in subdivisions, it was the same way with "some". Most neighbors have common sense, but there are those few???

We live in the country now, and neighbors are not so close, but I have the nicest neighbors anyone could ask for. We help each other out all the time.

We are in for some snow here today too, darn. I am so ready for spring :daisy

as courtesy, Koolaid always helps clear out the neighbor's mailbox; we all help each other out here, when we can
and don't leave snow piles on the property lines here; we've been blessed with wonderful neighbors

SunFlower and I have lived at this location for 8 years now and this winter was the first time I experienced this. Last week, we received 6". I have a (green) snow blower and have always done my neighbor's sidewalks, on both sides, and the lady across the street (Virginia is a frail 85 yo widdow) gets her sidewalks and driveway done. With the blower, it's really no big deal. What, another pint of gas? Whopie.

Anyway, last week, I got out and began shoveling as the blower has gone on to the big scrapyard in the sky. Took quite a bit longer, but what the heck, it helps me maintain my slim, trim, girlish figure. As I was shoveling, out comes one neighbor, on his (green) lawn tractor, with chains and the plow (he's doing it up right). Plows his sidewalks. I'm shoveling my sidewalk up to his driveway (and a couple feet). He does his front walk. I'm shoveling my sidewalk up to the corner. Next he does his side door walkway. I'm working on another sidewalk, from the corner to the other neighbor's. He clears both of his double driveways. I'm still shoveling. Then, he finishes up by doing a stretch of his yard from the other side door to the street. OK. I'm starting on my driveway. He putt-putts back into his shed and is done. I finish my driveway and head across the street to do Virginia's driveway.

Some people... :X

I used to be nice and shovel snow, clear dead leaves etc. from our neighbors side; but they would watch me from their window and even pass me by on their way out of the house and not even say thank you or blink an eye. They must have thought I was their personal sherpa!!

NOW I use a ruler to decide where my property starts and where my property ends!

"it helps me maintain my slim, trim, girlish figure".....

Okay Calgon...we need to see a picture of this =lolgang

Just in from blowing off the remaining snow we got over night. I did from my driveway, to the neighbors driveway, and then.....just to prove a point, I kept going to their other neighbor's driveway. Kill 'em with kindness my mom always said! :)

You have the right attitude, Cyco...

Here's another good one...

Back when we lived in a sub, our neighbor had some major surgery. She was home recovering, and we got some heavy snow. We had a good snowblower, and since my dh was at work, I went out did our driveway and then went over and did their's. She came to the door and thanked me.

But...when her husband got home from work, he threw a holy fit!! He was very angry that I did their driveway. I think it was a "male" thing, and he didn't want some female doing his driveway.

He always was a little "screwy" =screwy (I really felt sorry for his wife)

On one side we have a great neighbor. She is very nice. We both have a swimming pool and decided that one tree on our side was causing dead leaves to make a mess in our pools. She paid for half of the removal even though it was on our side.. Our neighbors on the other side are very inconsiderate. Their trees hang over our side of the fence and there dead leaves fall into our pool. We trim the part thats hangs on our property but they are really tall and leaves everywhere in our pool and yard from them. They won't trim them. (We've asked). I guess neighbors are like a box of Chocolates............ :lol
