We were at Mr. Sancho's last week with our three kids 24,18,14. It was nice. We rented a jeep but if I had to do it again I would take a taxi, it is only a few KM from the port.
Playa Mia is closer but there is an admission charge and lots more cars parked in the parking lot and several tour busses too so we went a bit further to Mr. Sancho's.
Playa Mia has water toys like a slide and trampoline, they say, but I was happy with Mr. Sanchos.
There are 6-8 shops between the parking lot and the beach with all the usual stuff and they try to sell you, but if you say no they leave you alone.
We bought a hat, henna tattoo, "cuban " cigars, and some "silver" jewerly. You can definitely get the pricelower, but it does take some haggeling.
The food and drinks were good, expect to pay american prices. They have nice tables under thatched roofs with chairs that you can use, no charge.
There is a nice guy with fabulous macaws who will take your picture with the birds for $12.00. I did not try to get him down in price since I took a bunch of pictures of him, his birds and my kids with my camera.
Did not see any topless sunbathers.
You can have a massage for $1.00 per minute. There are bathrooms, showers and a place to change. The water is nice and clear and the bottom clean and the sand nice. there is a dive shop there too.
I would go back, we shopped with geraldo who has the closest shop to the beach and got some nice stuff and he was nice to us in return.
