Hi folks,

Rainy over much of the Eastern U.S. today

Midwest

An area of low pressure will move through the Ohio Valley towards the central Great Lakes today bringing a chance of rain and thunderstorms to areas east of the Mississippi River.

Rain will taper off from west to east as the low moves by, wrapping up near the Great Lakes and Upper Ohio Valley tomorrow.
Additional storms are possible today in western portions of Kansas and Nebraska.

Another system will drop south out of Canada Thursday and Friday bringing a renewed chance of rain and thunderstorms to the Upper Midwest, then the Ohio Valley, Mid-Mississippi Valley and Central Plains over the weekend.

Highs today will range from the 60s near Lake Superior and in parts of the Ohio Valley to the mid and upper 80s in the Plains.

Northeast

A couple of rounds of showers and thunderstorms will impact the Northeast today.

The first round will move through Northern New England and northern New York State today, while the next round will move into the interior later today and spread across the region tonight through Friday.

Moisture from a low pressure trough currently over the Bahamas will lift northward through late week, possibly enhancing rain chances over the region late week.

After a mostly dry day on Saturday, a system forecast to move into the Upper Midwest Thursday and Friday will bring more rain Sunday into early next week.

Highs today will range from the 60s over northern Maine to the mid 80s near the Mid-Atlantic Coast.

South

A frontal boundary moving through the Southeast will bring a chance of rain throughout the Southeast today before reaching the Southeast and Gulf Coasts tomorrow before dissipating Friday.

The tail end of the front will stall over the Southern Plains and bring a chance of rain to portions of Texas.

South of the front in South Texas, unseasonably hot temperatures are expected to continue.

The system moving into the Upper Midwest Thursday will bring storms to the region over the weekend.

Highs today will range from the 70s in the Tennessee Valley and parts of West Texas to the 100s in South Texas.

West

An upper level ridge remains in place over the West bringing unseasonably hot temperatures to the Northwest and California?s Central Valley.

Upper level disturbances trapped under the ridge will keep a chance of storms in the forecast for the Four Corners and portions of the Desert Southwest.

An upper level trough will move into the Pacific Northwest tomorrow, bringing slightly cooler (but still above average) temperatures to the Northwest.

An upper level disturbance originating from this trough will move through the Rockies Friday through the weekend and trigger some mainly afternoon and evening showers and storms.

Highs today will range from the 50s along the Northern California Coast to the 120s near Death Valley.

Good morning Charles and thank you. We are off to a beautiful start. It is cooler with not much humidity, so the furbabies are very happy campers.

Good morning, and thank you Charles. We were "below normal" yesterday - a mere 104 - but I think that won't last long!

Have a good day, everyone.
