We sailed on the Mercury in a (very) forward cabin. The pitching motion was very noticable on one night when I lurched to the Purser's desk for some dramamine. By the time I got that far back (midships), it wasn't moving much at all. Kids thought it was great getting "air time" off the top bunks! I'd go midships-to-aft, myself.
