:cheer:Good morning all!! Grab a hot cuppa and come by and chat for a bit. Might be a little damp out on deck , temp abt 66 now. Had a good rain last night with a little hail. I can hear Thunder in back ground even as I type.Paw glad he won't have to water today. Temps are to get very high today and with the humidity it will be a uncomfortable for sure. Brenda is supposed to be in camp ground camping with their neighbors. Her 5th wheel is big enough they can have friends in for cards, visiting and something to drink--Brenda is like me she can always read. they enjoy just looking at lake and b eing away from telephone. A lot of camper have camped in ground enough years that everyone knows everyone else and they have carry in feeds as a group. Some are even children of the couples we camped with so there are some 40 year friendships involved. If Billy doesn't join them for a meal she usually fixes him a plate and takes it to him.

Paw is grilling today-our deck has a roof. I have to finish yesterdays project of steam mopping floors I got abt 1/2 way done found that is harder on me than running sweeper.

Jackie name a date and I will tell Paw we are heading to Branson. My family is having a reunion on July 24th at Neosho.

I had a call last night that my 90 ye3ar old aunt had died. I told my aunt who called(she is yr. younger) that I was getting so I dreaded hearing her voice as so often it did announce another death in family. My mother still has 3 sisters and 2 brothers living.

Have a new book going but it is lighter and will probably finish it this week end.
Did do the bank balancing and surprise they arfe right--good to find money just before cruise payment due.
Sending out good wishes to those under the weather--Mary Ann good wishes for your eye surgery.--What is happening in your corner of the sandbox?:spyglass::sunny:

Good Morning Maw & @ddict friends,
Maw so sorry to hear about your aunt. It seems like your family has lived long lives & you have such a big family. I have a very small family. I once told my husband I only married him for his big family.
Your weather sounds alot like ours. It's 66 here too. We didn't have any rain over night & no humidity. I hope to spend some time outside today while it's nice.
Brian & I are taking several big bags of stuff to be shredded to a local bank that has what they call a shred fest every now & then. You just drive up & they empty your bags into this huge shredder & off you go. I have tons of stuff to shred it would take me forever if I sat & did it here at home. I found some bank statements the other day from back in 1994. I don't think I need them. Trying to get more of my stuff in order.
Take care

Good morning to Maw and all the other Addicts.

Maw, we are having hot and steamy weather too. 97 for the high today. Sure wish I could stay home and lay around the pool but I have a final walk thru at 12:30, going to a friends to get them booked on a cruise with us at 1, graduation party at 2 and have to be back home and ready to leave at 4:30 to go out with my friend's to see Wicked in St Louis tonight. This is about the same schedule I have had all week.

Did I mention cruise??? Yes, I did! We booked my 50th birthday cruise for January 2012 on Wednesday. Yippie!!! Now I won't dread turning 50 too much, it will be a day to look forward to. I am thinking it should fall on a formal night and it will be nice that everyone on the ship will be dressed up just for me! We have actually convinced some others to go along with us on our cruise. My next door neighbor who is also one of my best friends booked yesterday and another couple we really enjoy spending time with is booking this afternoon. Some others are on the fence but we hope they join us as time goes on. Booking a year and a half out will make for lots of frozen thingie gatherings!

I have been MIA this week due to being so busy. I took a friend for eye surgery on Wednesday and we had a flat on the interstate in morning rush hour. Luckily he was able to change the tire but my tire was ruined and I had to have 2 new ones put on yesterday. I live in such a small area and the place that had the best prices on tires is such a run down little station. I sat on a chair yesterday, holding my purse on my lap trying not to touch anything, wondering just how old the candy bars were in the old candy case. LOL The joys of living in a small rural area.

I have been trying to squeeze in looking at things for the updating of the house. Hard to do when I am so busy with work, getting tires ect. I did find some ideas I liked, will have to look further into those. I have an electrician coming Tuesday to do a little work outside for some landscaping.

I also decided I would like to incorporate a coffee bar if possible in my kitchen. I have an espresso machine and lots of flavorings so it would be nice to have a dedicated area. I have an idea but don't know if it will work. Have to run it by the guy who is helping me with things and see if it would work.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good morning Maw and Ramblers. After a pretty day yesterday in the mid 80s and low humidity we are heading towards a week run of 90s with high humidity...it is already 80 this morning.

Maw, I am so sorry to hear you had another aunt pass. It's GREAT though that they have seemed to live nice long lives.

Jan, I come from a small family too. My Mom only had two sisters and my Dad one sister and all of my grandparents didn't have many siblings either or were only children. But I try to stay in touch with my cousins and Facebook has made that easier.

Whimsy, I've had two flats on my new SUV since I got it in December....well not exactly flat...tires have sensors in them so they let me now by idiot light that there was something wrong and they were losing pressure. Took it in and one time I picked up a screw and the other was a piece of metal. They are building a new middle school down the road from our subdivision and I expect I picked up somthing from the road there.

Sure would have loved to have enjoyed that nice weather yesterday but had that colonoscopy yesterday morning. All went very well and I don't have to have it done again for 7 years...unless I have any complaints between now and then. I must say once the cleansing process is over the procedure itself was a piece of cake. It's amazing how the drug they use puts you out cold but you wake up fast. We were on our way out the door by 11:30 and back home by 12:30 after picking up a sandwich for me...I was starving. Got home and layed down in bed and zooked out the rest of the day. I made myself get out of bed at 6:30 and have dinner and stayed up for a couple house. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to sleep through the night...wrong, when I went back to bed at 10:00 I zonked out again and I had to force myself to get up at 9:00 this morning. I wasn't groggy, I'd just keep drifting back off to sleep. Leatherneck was up and out early to go to a shooting range in Richmond with his friend. Anyway, this drug they give you is the same drug that Michael Jackson abused and caused his death.....as a person who tends to have insominia, I can see how he got hooked.

I have nothing planned for the day. I was to go shopping with Ana today but she can't go now. I have to still be at the mall at noon as I am demonstrating the Travelscoot to a couple people....I've become the VA point of contact for anyone who would like a look-see. I know Jacquie and Mackenzie have fittings today on their dresses....it they go late enough maybe I'll join them.

Well, I guess that covers it for me today...seems I really ran on at the mouth today  Hope you all have a GREAT weekend.

Good Morning Maw, Summer is in full swing here in the Tampa Bay area of FL. This weeks is become that very HOT and Wet weather we see in mid-summer. The rains are beginning to start almost daily now.

I'am home with the baby Meagan and April is working this weekend. Meagan should be ready for a nap after a busy morning of Yo Gabba Gabba and Sesame Street (she loves Elmo). I'am attaching a recent photo of her at Five Guys Burgers. Since I haven't posted any photos of her in so long. :)

Morning Maw and ramblers,

Well, we've had quite the week of storms here in MN! Thursday appears to be a record setting day for tornadoes in our state--I heard on the news that we were at over 30 confirmed on Thursday alone. I always say I could never live on the west coast with the threat of earthquakes or where hurricanes might hit, but after being a Minnesotan all my life and living through summer after summer with all these storms I think it really wouldn't be much worse. I guess every area has some drawback.

Today looks like a little calmer day and with all the rain we've had I need to make the most of it and get things done outside. Our garden has taken quite the beating with the rain, wind and hail. I hope the tomatoe plants are still doing okay.

Whimsy-glad you are celebrating your 50th in style. Mine is fast approaching and I think it will be a quiet camping weekend with my sons and nephew. I don't want to be at home - you never know when somebody will get the idea that there should be some big surprise gig!

Have a great Saturday all and enjoy the day for what it might bring.

K

Good morning fellow @ddicts! ! ! I see the sun shining thought the trees so maybe it will be a fairly nice day.

I will be getting suitcases prepared for Bread to start packing. She, KT, and Gavin head out Tuesday for Seattle for a few days prior to our cruise. I'll be joining them Friday.

One of my projects at work has to be redone. I have done it twice already, but higher ups keep changing how they want it, so it means extra work for me. Don't know why they make things so complicated.

Have a GREAT day everyone, and stay safe ! ! ! !

Mornin' Maw, Paw & C@ Gang!!

Maw - I am sorry for the loss of your aunt. My family is very small, in fact, I have one blood uncle left and that is it. I have 8 first cousins on my mom's side. We keep in touch. Then I have 6 first cousins on my dads side, 4 of whom I grew up with but haven't seen in 30 - 40 years, depending on which one we are talking about. The other two I have never met. So that is that for me!

Nieciez - glad all is well with you. I like that drug too, and find it amazing how alert you are when you awaken after surgery. I think that it needs to be kept under lock & key though, and any doctor who administers it out of a hospital setting, should lose their license.

The rain has stopped but the sky is still gray. Den is out weeding, I've just come back from the farmers market...bought tomatoes and milk. No eggs, they were out already. Teaches me right as I know I should place my order ahead. But, I have 4 left and that will get me through until Tues.

Hi Whimsy & Janpep!!

John - looking forward to you being around more. Been missing you and your family!

Good Morning Gang!

Bunch of sleepy heads at our house today. I didn't get up til 9:00 am and the rest are just getting up. Was nice to sit on patio and drink my coffee and read the paper.

Went to a new club for dinner last night. Knights of Columbus - it was nice. We all sat around talking and before we knew it - it was midnight! Good thing the club is real close to our house! lol

Today we have a wedding, graduation and reception all in different towns! We sound like you Whimsy.

My mom cut her finger on a can and had to get 5 stiches. My sister and her family will be over there packing today - I offered to come help but was told no! lol Works for me!

John - Megan is a doll, they grow up so fast.

Niciez - I knew once you got all that liquid down the rest would be a breeze

Jan - never heard of the Bank Shred - might have to check our area for that

Maw - sorry for your loss - you do keep busy with a big family - but it is fun

Hope you all have a great day! Be careful and enjoy!

John - she is Adorable!! She is growing up fast, too. Not that I am telling you anything you don't know!

Tobyn - happy packing and an early Bon Voyage to you all.

Whimsy - celebrating your 50th on a cruise is @wesome!! Enjoy!!

HI H2OBabe - nice to see you!

Ok - upstairs to the studio for me. Ta-ta!

Whimsy, I had to laugh out loud about your comment on the "candy bars"....that was cute...

Someday, I'll have to tell my "junkyard" story...

....and I love that idea of a coffee bar! When you get that done, I'll pick up Kathy C and Donna in Ohio, and Maw, and we'll head over for a Cappuccino :boogie:

Denise, glad to hear your procedure yesterday went well. I have to admit....I love Propofol too....makes it so much easier. I actually don't mind all the hospital tests so much now...I hated them in the old days!

Well, last night we had a big card game here. Those rats won 3, we only won 1. So there may be a re-match tonight. Waiting to hear....

Rudee loves when my brother is here. He's like a big nine-year-old kid! He runs around in the yard with the dog, and Rudee loves it! I've got to get some video of that

Well, I'm off to get some munchies for tonight...have a weekend all...

Hello-friends-smiley-sign.gif
Hi Maw and Jan, and other that follow...

Hi John, that picture of Megan is WONDERFUL...she is sure the cutie. AND it's so nice to see you in Maw's Office:sunny:

Hi Tobyn, tell your girls and Gavin to have a safe trip...and I hope the time goes quick for you before you join them. I KNOW you all will have a GREAT cruise with Jeff and Kari...give them my best too.

Kay, glad to see you posting and safe from the storms....I thought of you and Jan when it hit the news.

Hi Corky....hope all is well with you and Den.

Donna, enjoy your busy day...girl you are always on the GO!

Patty, good luck tonight on the rematch!

Good morning everyone. Maw sorry to about your Aunt's passing - sounds like she lived a good long life though.

My mom was the youngest of 12 and there is only her and 1 sister left, my dad was an only child. I have 56 first cousins!! Too many seconds and thirds to count!

Off to work in my cruise office today - it's a one day sale for Princess so hopefully I'll make some sales!

Have a great day everyone!

Terry

Good morning. Maw, I send my condolences on the passing of your Aunt.

It's a hot one here today -- 80F already at 10:30 am -- so I have the windows open and fan on (may switch to A/C later) and decided that this is a day to do household chores. My only question is to decide which one can endure procrastination the longest. Weekends are the only times I have to take care of bills, scrub floors and tubs, and declutter a very messy house. Thank goodness DH helps a lot with the laundry and does the cooking.

DH is off to the bank this morning to fight a couple of fees that we were just ordered to pay a month after closing an account we no longer needed. I wouldn't have taken issue if these fees (if appropriate) were deducted from the check they gave us the day we closed the account, but to send a threatening letter one month after the fact does not sit well.

As for me... what to do first? Probably bills. After I make another cup of tea, of course.

Maw mentioned a steam cleaner for the floors. I'm actually looking for one. Any suggestions from the Ramble crew? We have vinyl tile in the kitchen and ceramic tile in the bathrooms.

Have a great day, all. Thoughts and prayers continue to all in need... and I hope we hear some encouraging news on Connie soon.

Good morning. I have the towels switched and the sheets churning and so it starts!

We are going to dd's for dinner tomorrow but it will be a small gathering as Alfie is going to his dd's and Jen is staying home with a recovering David as he had a surgical procedure done yesterday. And Sara has to work.

Maw sorry about your Aunt's passing. I am the oldest living remaining person on both sides of my family. And as far as we know Alf is the last in his family. My Mom was the middle of 7 and my Dad was one of 2. I have one brother and Alf is an only child.

It is a cloudy morning here but the sun was bright at 5:30!! I think we had our spring in January and February! They have replaced the crop in the field beside us already! Dug in the cabbages they had planted & fertilized several times. Now those have been dug up and we are not sure what has gone in there now. No wonder veggies are so expensive!

Have a great weekend. And stay safe.
Liz

OMG! She is beautiful! Thanks for sharing the pic - been a long time since my kids were small and cute! :D

Good Morning Everyone

Maw -- sorry about another death in your family. Sure seems like everyone lives to nice ripe old age though.

John -- love your taking time to post a picture of Meagan.

Denise -- wow -- your colonoscopy went fast. We leave for the hospital when I have one at 7:30 -- they gebin to prep me at 8:30. Take me into the room at 9 -- wheel me out to the rest area at 9:30. Discharge me at 10:30. We usually get home by 11:30. It's a long morning for me.

Corky -- what project are you working on now?

Whimsey -- that is wonderful that so many friends will be able to cruise with you and celebrate your 50th birthday.

Everyone have a good day.

Good Saturday everyone - Hot and humid here, a/c on and I am getting ready to do some cooking today - Guinness mushroom beef in the crockpot and chicken coconut curry. Later when dh gets home I will make curried cauliflower fritters and rice to go with the curry. I have a new rice to try - Carolina Gold and some nice asparagus and corn on the cob to cook. I also need to make a pot of ratatouille with the abundance of zucchini and eggplant I have. A busy day for me but I don't mind - I will be able to skip cooking tomorrow!

Maw - So sorry to hear about your aunt's passing. It is nice that she had a nice long life. I envy you your big family as I only have one sibling, my dad and one uncle who is not close to us at all - we have had a lot of loss in my family. {{Hugs}} I hope you enjoy your new book and time out on the deck. Grilling sounds fantastic today - I'll be over with a big pitcher of iced tea and a fruit salad! :D

Denise - Glad your test went so well. Hate that prep so much and with my health issues I always say that it's just wrong to do that to people! I don't think I have ever had propanofol - usually get general anesthesia (fentanyl) for this test and recently did versaid for my hand surgery. Love the versaid as I have no aftereffects from the drug and don't get the dreaded tube down the throat. 7 years is a nice break from having to do it again! Enjoy your outing to the mall and weekend - lots of a/c to deal with this heat.

Jan - That bank shredding sounds like a great program. I have never seen that done here. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your cooler weather!

Whimsy - I loved your comment about the age of the candy and time at the tire place. I could just picture it. I hope you can get a coffee bar in your kitchen - I will join the others to visit when that is in place and I'll bring a nice sour cream coffee cake to go with!

K - Sorry it's been so stormy - we went through that here about 2 weeks ago with really bad tstorms and wind damage. In my town people lost roofs, trees came down. It was really scary. As for the hurricanes you wouldn't mind those at all. I live right on the ocean and our house rocks when the wind gets up over 40 mph or the surf gets high and comes over the seawall. A good noreaster/hurricane can be alot of fun - tape up the windows, stock up on water and candles, and have a party. You could come on over! Earthquakes, tornadoes and flooding are all things I don't want to experience either. Hope you have a nice weekend.

Tobyn - WOO HOO!!!   May this week fly by for you and that report be done to perfection easily!

Corky - I wish we lived near each other as I would love to cook with you!

Donna - Nice to see you have a slow start to the day but sorry to hear about your mom's stitches. Hope you have fun at all your events today!

Lisa - Hope you have a great weekend! Have you been out at the pool yet this summer with PB? I was remembering spending many hot days there. Hope you find a good steam cleaner - I have a bissell carpet/floor cleaner but do the floors (linoleum, wood, tile) by hand (faster & easier for me).

If I missed anyone - I am sorry.

Okay - I have to make more coffee and get at it here.

Guess it is almost lunch time for everyone--jave had a productive morning--got kitchen floor steamed mopped just have family room to do. I like my mop but really need to do it more often. Have my days wash done. Paw is on ther deck with the pork roast on the grill has sauced stirred up for when it is done in 4 or 5 hours.

John thanks so much for sharing the new picture of Meagan(I would love to give her a hug and kiss.) so nice to have you in office--hope to see you on cruise in office again soon. Do drop by anytime here. Jan ylou gotta get better those cruises are moving in fast now. Whimsy you arfe one busy gal glad to hear real estate seems to be moving a little better. Niecie glad you got through that test yesterday know you and girls will find something fun to do this week end. H20 watch those storms. Tobyn aren't you gone on that cruise yet(soory I had dates wrong in my mind.) have a good time with family. Corky get ready more steamy weather moving your way. We have had ac on for days.Twinkles was gkad to see you back yesterday waITING TO HEAR OF MORE OF "CLOWNS" ANTICS." Regae wish I had some of that Belgium chocolate.Lisa you just gotta take some Lisa time once in a while. Enjoy your family-house will be there when you arfe gone. Tango that is a lot of cousins.

I think I have mentionbed my dad was youngest of 12 and my mom oldest of 12--everyone had b ig families I have cousins from age 90 to 20. My kids only had two uncles and 4 cousins--so many of my cousins were their age that they often get confused which generation they are--I was thinking abt a time Billy lived in Joplin and I had 3 young cousins his age who were salesmen who called at store when he worked--mother said she frequently came home to find cousins had had a family lunch.

Just because I have posted again don't anyone stay away--join us.

I'm back for a minute...then got to get back upstairs, I have my two pieces squared up and ready to grind.

Donna - maybe you can get your mom one of those can openers that opens the can with no sharp edges. Might be a good housewarming gift for her.

Hi Ragge - go get 'em at cards tonight!!

Nieciez - we are fine, thanks for asking. Den had a cold this past week & still worked!, so he is taking it easy and staying inside as much as possible this weekend. He doesn't work on Fridays, I do, and yesterday I gave him strict instructions that he was to do Nothing. Which is what he did. Ha! I hope you and Leatherneck are doing well, too.

Tango - happy selling day!

Lisa - good luck with the fee, that is so frustrating when banks try to pull that. Ours tried it in Feb '09 when we paid our mortgage off. Once I called and explained my displeasure they removed the fee.

Hi Popcorn - our sun is going in and out today. It can't make its mind up. At least we had a good pour this morning and we don't have to water our veggie garden. Enjoy your dinner tomorrow.

KK - I am working on two dragonflies, that have a cattail and a blade of grass in the piece, also. Plus, I made these things that I am calling Mr. Tie Man that my son is giving his father and grandfather for Fathers Day tomorrow. He picked out the colors and I am making them. It is a piece of glass, shaped like a tie, that I've put a glass glob head, arms and legs on. They are so darn cute! Thnx for asking and I will post pics once I get done. Oh, and post the picture of the goldfish that my partner did. She used a pattern that Red sent to us, and the piece turned out Awesome!

Bostongal - I wish we did, too. That would be fun! One of the things I miss with my son is our cooking together. So it would be extra nice for you and I to cook together.

Bostongal - would you share your guiness recipe? And the chicken coconut curry? And what with the new rice? I love rice!

Ok - time to eat a cookie or two and get workin'...toodles!
