Morning all!! Grab a hot cvuppa and come on by and chat. Woke up early very with a wrist that is really hurting never had one hurt this way so have taken some tylenol and am waiting for it to kick in. Think we are going to grocery store today. all that talk of fresh veggies yesterday has me really ready for some. Paw likes to go early for parking space and a scooter in store I would rather wait so we can get some lunch out/ Paw worked most of day yesterday in garage cleaning up car good and waxing etc. I did a few little chores around and then read and watched TV. I have watched some of the soaps for 50 years until last few months and all of a sudden I can't stand them. Been listening to radio and CD's more . There ae reports of thunderstorms and etc then high heat but we lucked out yesterday and did not get all that warm. I did find myself drinking more yesterday and have already had a glass of water this morning. I had not been drinking enough water for quite a while.

Here I am with a cruise in 3 weeks and another scheduled next Feb ane what do I do yesterday but read some of the ads and dream abt booking another one. These prices are so low it seems. Our air fare ends up costing almost as much as the cruise though. When we get ads Paw reads them careful now , as he reads them he will comment whither he wants to go where they are headed. Up until now I usually booked and told him we were going but think he is wanting to get into helping choose. He doesn't realize it isn't as much where we go as who we go with that determines the success.

Sending out good wishes to those under the weather. Just take meds and rest several of us have cruises coming up. What is happening in your corner of sandbox?

Good Early Morning Maw and Ramblers....Maw' aren't you the early bird after the worm this morning :lol :lol Sorry to hear your wrist is bothering you though....is it the right? I get that then too much "mouse action" on the computer LOL.

Nothing new here....was a same old same old work day. Nice surprise when I got home was that Leatherneck cooked dinner....ham steak and potatoes augratin. Played with the pups, watched some TV then to bed.

Maw - I am so there with you. There are really some good deals out there. I found a 3 day b2b for me and my girlfriends but the airfare was more expensive than one of the 3 days. A no brainer says No Way. I will keep my eye out on cheap air fare though as the news reported that air fare is supposed to drop this 2nd 1/2 of the year. We'll see. I've only seen it go up. :

Well, I have Jury duty today. But, if it is the case I think it is, and if I actually get called to the Jury box, I will have to be dismissed as I've discussed the case with one of the professional witnesses. Not knowing at the time that I was. So, given that, I could not be impartial towards one of the sides.

Started working on a stained glass project yesterday. It felt good to finally be in my studio again as I've not worked on a project for over a year. I was surprised I could still cut a piece of glass. :lol

We are to have more thunderstorms and rain today.

Good morning everyone. Well we had a very nice visit with all my brother's friends at the local pub last night. There were 12 that showed up - made my mome very happy.

She heads back on the train today. Stopping in Winnipeg to spend a couple of weeks with her sister there, before returning to Ottawa.

It's been a short but very nice visit.

Good morning everyone. Maw, I hope your stomach problems are better. I am still hqving trouble with mine. I keep getting over it then getting it back again. NO fun! My legs seem to be healing, except for a couple spots that don't look good but the weeping will not stop. I am getting very tired of this! I see the wound dr again on Monday, altho I am going to call and see if he wants me to take more A/Bs.

Finally some good news,. my printer was not broken after all. TJ had put on a new surge protector for me, and somehow the plug slipped behind the desk and we didn't realize it had not been plugged in. It is hard to find one plug in all that spaghetti back there, lol.I had pulled on the printer end of it, but felt resistance so I thought it was plugged in Anyway that saved me $$$.

Nieciez, send Leatherneck over here. I am tired of eating my own cooking, lol!

Corky, we have a studio locally that teaches stained glass cutting. It is a fascinating place to wander through, but it looks like a lot of work. Would love to see some photos of your projects.

Terry, glad you had a nice visit with your Mom.

Funny thing I belong to a Siamese Cat Forum, located in England. These people breed Siamese and Orientals, very expensive cats. We all post photos of our babies. Yesterday there was a thread talking about favorite cats, and two of them listed Simon as one of their favorite cats on the board! Well, he is one of mine!

Good morning gang. Woke up really early this a.m. & finally got up just after 6. We had 3 whole days without rain but not to worry as they say more is on the way today accompanied by severe storms. DD and I are going out this evening for a quiet dinner, just the 2 of us, haven't done this for quite a while. She seems recuperated from her camping ordeal & is ready to head off to the big city tomorrow for a few days of fun. Very cool here so decided this is a good day to turn the oven on and bake cupcakes with the little ones. Not much else is happening. Have a good day.

Corky-Hope your able to skip out of Jury Duty and get back home. Some people consider it a privelage, but after being married to an Law Enforcement Offical for 24-years and you "see" what goes on "behind-the-scenes" it makes one kinda jaded into thinking that the "Law" is on our side. Okay, off of my "soap-box" for now! Just have a good day and take it easy! :wave hug

Had planned on giving the house a good cleaning, but DH told me to take it easy today, I'll clean once he leaves for work! Morning gang,everyone sounds pretty good considering,I posted pics of Johns new patio in the making and Serena on facebook,dont know how to do it here so you are all saved from viewing unless I can get John to do it for me,facebook makes it so easy,lol.

Terry I commented on your pic of friends for your brother on facebook,looks like a good time was had by all.

Denise John cooks a lot here,and not just on the grill,he can mix certain spices and make a new dish easily and it always tastes good,I try that and its a mess,I follow the recipe,I am a good cook but follow directions,lol.

Connie so glad your printer is okay.

Denise by the way how is Buck doing on the meds?

Corky now that is one way to get out of jury duty,lol.

Maw sorry about your wrist,hope as the day goes on it will feel better.

Having a nerve root block done Aug 6th for those who didnt get to read yesterdays post,been reading up on it,maybe this will be the answer.

Good morning Maw and Gang,
Oh what a beautiful morning,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that is how I felt waking up this morning, I was singing that song,, out loud too It is beautiful here this morning and I got a full eight hours of uninterrupted sleep, it is marvelous!!! Now how to spend the day. I think I will continue to get the office or the garage organized,,, just not sure which one to work on, or if I want to go out. I am making banana bread right now, so that is something.

Maw sorry to hear about your wrist, careful with that Tylenol.

Denise you have the same kind of evening we have around here, but we don't have pups anymore.

Connie, we used to live with 5 Siamese (we didn't own them, they owned us )

Corky, I will use you for inspiration, and maybe get back into my art studio....

Good morning fellow @DDICTS! ! ! ! Wow was it a HOT one yesterday. Over 90*! ! ! Now if you remember correctly we had -56* in January, so in seven months our temps have made a 146* change! YOWSA! ! ! Enough to drive a sane person away from here. Or help keep the riff-raff out! :lol :lol Either way, I know we are going to be here for a while yet as neither of us can retire anytime soon!

Today is supposed to be **slightly** cooler, maybe only in the upper 80s . . . . .

Other than that, nothing new and exciting up here . . . .same old, same old . . . . . .

Good Morning Everyone!

Tobyn - it is warmer in Alaska than it is here! lol We have had a cool summer and not enough sun or pool time!

Work today is much better - they beat me up yesterday. The house was so quiet last night with the kids gone and Jim at a meeting - it was strange! I did manage to strip the beds and clean out the fridge. Jim cleaned the downstairs and told me to take care of the beds and he would clean the upstairs today! Works for me! lol

Nothng on our plates this week. Going to visit mil today and give her brother a break - not sure what is going on there yet. I swear Jim and his brother are sure dragging their feet. Oh well, I just take a deep breath and look the other way! lol

In three weeks we leave for our land vacation out west. Going to Lake Mead, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas!

.I got off duty after 1AM..we had quite a circus and a zoo and no full moon insight.Goodness knows I am *GRATEFUL* for that one..:grin..the residents were WILD!!....it took me 2 hours to chart down, and get out, and then the down time to relax ,and rest..I'd pay a lot for 8 full sleep hours..:grin..ah well I do on vacation...

Notwithstanding it is cool, damp, and nasty rainy looking again here in Vermont.;my sinuses are having a headache field day..=whiteflag...
I am on my second cuppa.toddling off to get my omelet in a few..then gear up to do the house .just puttering till I head in,get Home sleep fast and do a 7AM -3PM tomorrow..

I am not seeing any improvement yet Korina.....and last night he coughed about 3 x for no apparent reason so that is a BAD sign. He has a vet appointment of Friday morning.

Good morning. You all have been busy! Maw - you may have just slept on your wrist wrong. Hope it improves as the day goes on.

It was a quiet night - finally- last night so I got a good night's sleep. And it is a cool and cloudy morning, so I may get some work done around here. Alf needs to go to the hearing aid place and get his hearing aid fixed. The hot weather is supposed to be returning. Just as the flowers and the lawn are showing signs of recovering. Weird weather for us.

Hi group!!!

Well, about aches and pains --- a lot of the time that just comes with aging. When I go to bed at night I know that after awhile I will be awakened by shoulder neck pain or cramps in my legs. I never seem to have a truly restful night but I am getting used to it. What else can I do???

Supposed to be another 100+ day here and that is normal for us here in the middle of the states. Do I like it? Well, definitely, no!!!!(td) In fact I hate hot weather . I am a winter person. I can always put more clothes on if I am cold but when one is hot there is only so much you can take off before being arrested!!

Hubby babysits our 3 grandsons (12,7 & 4) 3 times a week. That is HIS mission, not mine. I want to always be in love with our grandsons and if I had to have them for 9 hours a day I would pull my hair. Our 12 year old will be here soon to mow our yard and our neighbors. This is the way he is making his summer spending money.

Well, here I am...got kick off, just like I thought. Which is good as I had insider information. Which is not good in a case of law and one sitting on the jury.

So, what am I going to do today? I'm going to go swim at my friends house...the Medical Witness...and his wife...the blabber mouth...and then my hubby is coming over there, swimming, then we are all going to dinner. :lol

Right now, I am going to work in my studio and get it ready for more glass cutting tomorrow.

I started the day off by playing "plumber" I kept smelling something nasty in one bathroom sink, and no amount of cleaning or pouring hot water down etc. did any good. So I removed the stopper.. naturally ours was not one that you can just pull out, or twist and pull out.. NO! ours had to be undone from under the sink.
So I got my trusty book.. "How to fix almost everything" an old book by readers digest, and I looked it all up. I did remember to place a bucket under it :lol
But working in the cramped space is no fun. My hat is off to Suer and Warren who do this for a living.
When I finally pulled the stopper out, it was very nasty indeed, with a big clump of something down the bottom that had stopped the water from flowing strongly, and so added to the gunk.
I cleaned the stopper, and cleaned the pipe with a brush. NOTE! when you are pulling that brush back out, remember to have something like a paper towel at the top to pull it into, or you will have a newly decorated wall and counter.. lots of black spots :grin

It is actually back together and working now, and with no smell.
I am freezing some tomatoes and peppers from my garden, and cleaning up the house. I will wash my hair and then grab a book and sit and read for a while.. well, that is my plan.

No doubt Einstein has his blood pressure down from my early morning call when I asked him.. "where do you keep the plumbers snake?" :grin

Up and moving about today. Return to work this PM after being off 4 days (took Friday off as had to put beloved Josie to sleep). Things are getting better here and hope the return of the normal work week will help.

Way too hot here yet. Really looking forward to our October cruise - to get away and know we'll have cooler weather by then.

:grin OK Val..do you figure Mark's B/P is down is down from my 1:30AM note...the thermometer/temp light on the car went on at 1:15AM when I tried to put are you ready..????
THE HEAT on in the Car as I was FROZEN cold!!...and the danger light kicked on..=grrr..

and it was a dang good thing I "wrote" it where he could see it, and when he poked me to say good bye and get his AM smooch before he left for the office at 7AM..I got out of my sleep fog enough to ask *WHY* did it kick on??...seems my 10 year old cars radiator fluid was empty....
he refilled it,, and luckily it did not have time to kill the car..=eek...
happy trails kid..my late Gramps was a plumber, and he also trained me well too..:grin..owning a home is fun..well sometimes....sigh...Joanne.
