Good morning all!!! Grab a hot cuppa and come on by and chat. Rather cool this morning but supposed to warm up by abt noon. We have our appt with tax lady at noon. Just hope we don't have to find any more money. Ours don't change much from year to year. Fixed income fixed taxes. Had a re3laxing day yesterday after the pool. Sat in sun and read. Guess I will do some laundry and little house work chores. Good thing I have the free time this week as next week is one appt after the other . We will have to be out every day..
Right now I am totaly rfelaxed I could leave today and be ready as is Paw. shame we are not driving or we could leave.

Maw, it sounds like you have it all together. Good luck with the taxes today, I get mine done on Sat., for some reason mine change from year to year, just hope I don't have to pay.
I got out shopping for a bit yesterday afternoon, got a couple of bargains, a new blouse & a new sweater, bought something other than house clothes for once.
Warmer here this morning it's 12 already & going for a high in the mid 30's.
Think I will call my daughter & see if she wants to go out to lunch.

Morning Maw. Sure envy you your sunroom - both hubby and I say we have to go to a tanning salon soon - just need to feel some heat!! Also don't want to go to the pool in Vegas looking like beached whales!!

A stressful day at work yesterday. Meetings after meetings, didn't get much accomplished. Hopefully today will be better.

Korina hope you find some answers soon - I couldn't stand pain for that long I'm sure!

My knee feels much better. Guess the few days I stayed home really helped it.

MIL is home from hospital - and has someone coming in a couple of times a week to check on her. That puts our mind at ease. They figure it was the bladder infection that gave her the hallucinations and confusion. Hopefully she'll be back to normal now.

A shooting in a mall a few blocks away from us the other day. Known gang member shot to death. Little too close to home for me! Saw all the police cars when I went by on the bus - found out later what it was about. There have been so many gang related shootings in the lower mainland lately - take me away!!!

Good morning Maw and Jan and Gang to come,
Well it was a balmy 16 here this morning,,, baby it’s cold outside,,,, am I ever glad I put the recycling out last night, when it was a hot 28 F D and no wind, today it is also windy, so they say it feels like 0. I have had a good breakfast and I am ready to get to work. I am not going anywhere today, staying in. I will work on the cruise clothes and still cleaning and organizing the office. I am waiting tell this weekend to paint the chandelier, as it is just too cold to do it now. I also have to hem some pants and make a big pot of soup,,,, I think I am scattered.... oh well what's new?

Good morning Maw and Ramblers. It’s a very cold morning here in the Metro DC area with winds making it feel even colder yet. They are promising us a very nice weekend with warm temperatures though.

Maw and Jan, good luck with the Taxes...Leatherneck just picked our's up from the tax lady and we aren't getting as much back as I had hoped

Terry, glad to hear your MIL is home....hope she does well.

Cyndi, I am freezing here too but we will warm up this weekend they say.

Well, 2 weeks to go and we will be heading to the ship….on a cold day like this it makes one want the countdown to really tick away! I am more then excited HOT!

We had a quiet night at home last night. I did get a call from DD Jenny. She and her EX Chris are working on getting along better for the kids….they are going to do a day trip to the mountains to a ski resort and teach the boys to ski. Both Jen and Chris love to ski. Her babysitter is sick so since Leatherneck is off today for an early morning bone density test she will drop the boys by when she heads to work so she doesn’t have to lose a day of work too. I’ll get to come home to two of my munchkins tonight. Jen doesn’t get off work till 7:30 so I’ll be cooking dinner tonight….planning on Tatter Tot Casserole. (LOL Leatherneck just called me…he got all the way to the imaging center but left the paperwork at home, so they couldn’t do the test. It’s now rescheduled for next week.)

Called my Mom last night to see how my Dad did with his cataract surgery yesterday. All when fine but I got perturbed with Mom….they had about 6 inches of snow the night before. My BIL Dan was coming over to take them to the procedure. Instead of waiting for Dan to shovel the steps and sidewalk when he arrived, Mom goes out and does it! She will be 79 shortly and these are things she has to give up! She has had some cardiac issues and we don’t need her having a heart attack or falling and breaking her hip!

I am off work tomorrow for a mammogram so I have a long weekend to look forward to. Mackenzie and Kiera are both sleeping over for our postponed “Princess Sleep-overâ€Â. Now I have to move all the suitcases and “cruise-stuff†off the guest room bed LOL. We plan on watching the new American Girl movie and the Madagascar 2 movie. My sister Leslie is coming down this weekend to visit my niece Kim so I’ll be having the whole family over for dinner on Saturday….I am thinking about making baked ziti, salad and garlic bread.

Guess that covers it for me. Hope everyone is doing well and prayers and best wishes for those in need.

Mornin' Maw, Paw & C@ Gang!!

Very brisk here today and I thought I didn't need to get out, but while I was talking to my sister I remembered I need to pick up packing boxes and tape to load up some of sons artwork and cd's into, and get them shipped tomorrow with his bike - which is at the bike shop being torn down and boxed up...that is being sent to a bike shop in Portland...they will rebuild it and he will pick it up there. The other stuff we are shipping to his UPS box...but might as well get it all done tomorrow and we are finito with his stuff, anything else, he can get and haul out there himself. :lol

Tonight, some of our sons friends are coming to dinner...I am doing a baked ham, parsley potatoes, and a spinach souffle. Thank goodness his friends still "hang" with us and let us treat them like our own. It kind of lets us be semi-empty nesters.

Nieciez - I can't believe your mom, at 79 yrs of age, went out there and did that. Yell at her for me, will ya?

Gotta go get gussied up and get to Wally-World. :lol

Good morning

Today is the beginning of a very slight warming trend headed our way. We are going to be in the 40's this weekend, so the melting will begin. Of course, our winter is not over, but a little break, we'll take it!

One more week, and I'll be heading south to Florida for a couple weeks. I've been studying the maps online, and figuring out stops along our drive south. It's been a long time since I've driven to Florida, but it should be fun. We are going to stop and spend the night around Atlanta, GA, so it will be a two-day trip.

I can't wait to get to Florida, to just relax and warm up a bit. We do have some fun things planned and some beach days, of course. I'm anxious to see Sanibel Island, for the first time. We'll be the ones picking up shells on the beach :lol :lol

My sister mentioned making a trip down to Key West too, so maybe. Looking forward to a nice Grouper Sandwich

Sunny and freezing here in NYC.. it's 16* right now and it shouldn't go much higher than that throughout the day. Tomorrow starts the thaw... by Sunday mid 50's.

As soon as I'm done posting here it's time to do the taxes.......... We use turbo tax and it pretty much takes you by the hand and leads you through. Hopefully I'll be smiling when I'm done.

Morning gang,went to chiro again last night,tightened me up so much,couldnt sleep again,feet were like vises and so was my butt,called a acupuncturist,he said that is my nerves trying to rebuild itself and get out and try to walk more(which I havent done as right leg so bad) and see if that helps the tightness,if not come in for some treatments,so I am going out about noon when its about the warmest here in CO and see how far I can walk,he only recommended 10 minutes a day the 1st week,at this point I am willing to try anything,he says I have become a prisoner in my own body!

Good morning. It is a nice bright morning here but cool again. There is a lot of frost but I can see the mountains which is a good thing!

Maw - it is nice to read that you are so ready to leave and not in a panic. I would like to be on the ship with you all but I sure don't want to fly to get there!

Tango - glad to read that your mil is better. Those shootings yesterday were very brazen! At least they were only shooting at each other but soon an innocent by-stander is going to be in the way. Scary!

At art class she is starting to show us a lot of tricks of the trade but we never have the time to do the actual painting. Perhaps if I did it at home I might get something done, but I don't have a spot where I can leave my stuff set up all day.

I am going for a hair cut, wash & set this morning and the Y this afternoon.

Good Morning!

Niecez, my Mom is 80 and she shovels her drive too! We are about 1/2 a mile away but my kids just don't get up early enough for my parents. Of course, they clear the drive for the paper delivery and that's at 5am. My Mom shovels and my Daddy has a huge plywood "shover" that he pushes while riding his scooter. They are just stubborn and set in their ways. A couple of weeks ago, the boys got them.. They went down there and cleared the drive at 1 in the morining.

It is another cold sunny day but they say it is going to warm up some this afternoon.

DH is going out to run some errands later so he will not be here to "help" me for a while. He is going back to work tomorrow so I will fend for myself.

Day Three of my captivity:

1. All ice packs leak if you use them while sitting on upholstered furniture. The alcohol bases packs can drip and remove varnish from hardwood floors.

2. Throw rugs and cats are equally hazardous to those using crutches.

3. When you can't bend your leg very far, the side of the bathtub grows to 4 feet tall.

Please note that when I left the house on Tuesday morning at 6am, the bed was made and there were not boxes and a pile of clothes or stuff on the dresser. The black thing next to the bed is the bin for a paper shredder. I can't explain that at all!!!

Good Morning Maw and everyone! Cold day here today. Not much on tap for me but cleaning and a nap. I didn't sleep last night at all so I am dragging this morning.

Good Morning all - Up and about worked until 1a last night so am moving slow. Warmer here in 50's now and to get into 60's. Don't have anything must do today until I leave for work so will probably spend time on the computer. I do have areas on it that need to be addressed - clean out old emails etc. Will call to check on Duffy (dog) this afternoon since I'm sure she'll be at the vets for a few days I don't want to bug them too much. Good to stay on their + side. Prayers for everyone.

Hello everyone!

Cold day here in Northern Ohio - I have been drinking alot of coffee to just keep warm!

Busy night moving things around last night and I finally cleaned off a shelf of old plastic bowls and stuff. Amazing how much you collect thinking you will use someday but never do!

Talked to my dad last night - they got a new dog. Just what he needs! lol They say he is company so that is good for them.

Taxes are filed. One of major tasks out of way . Like I said just small refund good for a couple of drinks on ship. Another beutiful sunny day in Ozarks even if is cold outside so taking my book to green house with a cold bottle of Crystal Light punch
