A belated good morning all!! Got that first hot cuppa and trying to get my eyes open. come on by lets chatr and catch up on things.
had a good session at the water aroebics, did not relize I had stiffened up so much.Kitchen light quit a few days ago so Paw was looking for a new fixture. We checked the few places that sell lights in Bolivar. Some of these type places that are so big need to remember they have handicapped customer too. The one place we thught might have it has no parking near their door they have merchandise blocking entrance-they are big warehouse type and have no scooters so paw tried one door and it was locked and he could not get near the other. We went home and put the groceries away and he suggested we drive north to our old home town for lunch and to look for fixture. Nice day for a ride . There is a really good Mexican resturant here that we hit for lunch way too much food and carbs but was good. I brought enough home for two moe meals. He found the light fixture he wanted nd we drove round town just looking at changes since we moved 27 years ago. Felt dumb could not identify the house we lived in for 15 years before that. Paw then suggested we take long way home and we took out on highway headed to Warsaw crossing severa arms of Truman Lake b eutiful scenery. There we took off cross country on a little used road for short cut home. Let me tellyou don't think one lick of work done on that road in 27 years. We used to make this trip most Wednesday nights. We went to Warsaw and ate t a BarBQue then came to lake and played cards then back home to Clinton.. Lots of chnges. Since price of gas gone up we haven't taken out on these day excursions. I miss them and I have a few more in mind for this fall.
Okay manners patrol have a question. Living in a rural area s we do we hve never been exposed to charm schools and etiquette. I think we hve always been used to more refined eating but know I have a lot to learn. My fathers family were much more formal than my mothers. We have always sat down to table together with table clothes napkins and the food was always plain country eating, with bowls passed country style, you cleaned your plate and said thank you and please. I love trying new foods especailly on the ship but I really can be satisfied with just a taste. I found myself left with plates full every meal as ppetite is shrunk. I almost cried the night I coud not swallow more than a bite of souffle. My family ended up sharing many bites so we could ll try new tastes. As I was leaving so much on my plate if son or his children liked it they ate it . How far off manners is this? Is there a good way to share?
What is happening in your corner of the sandbox?
