:sunny:Good morning Ramble Gang. Time for your favorite beverage and a chat with your fellow @ddicts.:cheer: The heat and humidity has been relentless here in VA….I don’t remember a summer this HOT. Thank goodness for AC.
<O:p</O:p
Not much to report on my end. Had a quiet night at home. Salads for dinner as it is too hot to eat anything heavy.

Hope all went well for Billy yesterday at the VA...Maw and Paw, you have a safe drive home.
<O:p</O:p
What is happening in your corner of the world? Hope everyone has a GREAT day ahead.

Good Morning Nieciez & @ddict friends,
Woke up to a cooler (64) morning with lower humidity. It's cloudy & dreary out there. They say rain should move in by about 8:00am or so. I had thought about going out to get my nails done but I may just stay home & chill or rest or something.
I hope Billy had good results yesterday & that they have a safe trip home.
Take care & stay cool.

Good morning Denise and others to follow!

Had a normal day yesterday at work - quiet! Then after work hubby and I went and sat in park again for an hour - so nice!

Same thing on tap for today I guess. Sure glad we don't have the humidity - just lovin the nice summer weather!

Hope all goes well with Maw & Paw and their travel home.

Found out yesterday my other sister will be joining us on our cruise in December! Woo hoo the 3 Gorton girls will be together again - look out Carnival Glory!

Have a great day everyone!

Terry

Good Morning Ramble Gang!

Hope everyone traveling has a safe trip - where ever you are headed.

Will have to take photos of my bathroom to post tomorrow. It really looks nice and the guys were all done early! We had pizza, veggies and talked until late for for work night!

Today my baby grandson Nathan turns 10 years old! Boy is he getting big. Will post his birthday photo tomorrow. He just got back from Special Olympics Camp - was gone 5 days and he loved it. Called home the first day and then didn't hear from him until Colleen went to pick him up. He acted like he didn't even miss her! lol He is getting so big.

Sunny and warm today - but showers off and on - it is the time of year!

I have tomatoes on my plants - Cherry ones are actually getting red about now. A couple weeks and I am sure I will have them coming out my ears! lol

Back to work - hope you all have a great day - be careful and enjoy!

Good morning Denise and Gang,
Denise I know what you mean about HOT it is suppose to be 102 here today,, ugh :madd:and as you said thank you God for AC.
I am debating whether to go out or not today, but the forecast is no better later in the week, not until Friday when it is suppose to be 99. I need to do some shopping.
We also had fish and a salad last night for dinner, and did get some blessed rain about dinner time, so couldn’t use our nice clean spa, oh well maybe later today.
Jan we would sure welcome 64 send it please
Prayers for Maw, Paw and Billy

Good morning everyone.

We got some rain yesterday -- very little rain -- lasted only a couple of minutes. Didn't do any good -- but the humidity did go up. Temperatures are cooler this morning -- hope they stay that way for a couple of day.

Going to go out for some lunch -- getting tired of being in the house day after day.

Everyone have a good day.

Mornin' Nieciez, Maw, Paw & C@ Gang!!!

Nieciez - I too can't remember a hotter summer, and I'll tell you this, I don't like it!! LOL

Janpep - It is a little cooler here this morning, I meant to go out and pull weeds, but, here I sit. :whistle:

Tango - enjoy your afternoons at the park...that is what life is all about, taking the time to sit down and enjoy it! :doubleup:

Cruise cutie - can't wait to see all of your reno redo's. And, more importantly, pics of the new grandbaby!!

Donna - can't wait to see your reno redo pics, too. And, can't believe Nathan is 10...man, the time sure does fly by. I am so glad he enjoyed camp - good for him!! That brings back so many memories of my son going to camp - he hated it. :biggrin:

Cyndi - the only reason I am going out this a.m. is to go get some more Triple Delight sweet corn. We got 14 ear the other day, have eaten 8, and froze 6. We are having tilapia, corn, and a salad tonight for din-din.

KK - enjoy your day out to lunch. I love going out to lunch, probably more than I like going out to dinner.

Not much going on here, I have started my color coded excel clothing list for our Grand cruise. I am just in the beginnings of it, but it is coming along nicely. Ha!!

Happy day to all C@'s!!

Good morning everyone. Just wanted to pop in quick before I have to get ready for the hairdressers.

Gloomy morning with storms. Very dark in the house. Will have to turn the lights on.

Yesterday we had 2 poles removed that held a counter in our kitchen. Before I decide what I want there I wanted to try a table and chairs. Had our old set in the basement. We really enjoyed eating at the round table last night but it's not going to work. the space is definetely better suited for a counter. Will live with it at least a week before we officially make up our mind. DH must of really like it. He added an old ivy I have in a vase to the center.

I worked on typing up fathers side family tree last night. We are huge! I need to do a count but I am sure there is at least 150 from my grandparents on down. Special finish, my niece had her first baby last night and I finished the family tree with him!

Have a great day to all!

Good morning fellow @ddicts ! ! ! We wish the weather would make up its mind. Went from overcast, to beautiful sunny, to rain in a matter of a couple of hours. Looking for more sunny days . . . .

Went to bingo last night and won . . .yay! ! !

Got tired just reading Cruise Cutie's post. oy!

Have a GREAT day everyone, and stay safe! ! !

Good morning gang. A dreary day here with light rain. Temps are down a little but humidity is still bad.

Cruise Cutie we all know how tired your DD will be a few mo from now but I will give her my sympathy for having to carry her "extra baggage" during a hot & humid summer. My DIL returned to work today (baby is 7 wks) & baby has been sleeping in 7hr stretches at night for a couple of wks now; I don't think she doesn't realize how lucky she is having a new baby sleeping so well.

Donna, Happy Birthday to your GS. I don't know where the yrs go--my kids are 26 thru 32 & I'm now grandmother to 2. I think to myself, how did that happen? I'm not old enough! I don't feel old enough. In my brain I feel I'm about 30 but of course the old body says you are almost 60!

Hope Maw & Paw had a good trip yesterday. We were happy Mike touched base with the internist after such a long time. Dr had gone over all reports sent from Iowa City & things are about as good as we can expect at this time. He goes back in 3 mo.

Not much else from here. Have a nice day.

Good morning. I am feeling sorry for all of you that are experiencing the high humidity. We had about 3 days of it and even that was not like what you get. Today is starting out cloudy but will get nicer as the day moves on. I still wonder how our grandparents survived! No a/c, heavy clothes, lots & lots of work with none of the appliances that make our life supposedly easier, all clothes needed ironing, no fast food! And lots of kids.

Got the house tidy & went to the Y yesterday. But Lacey is shedding hair so the floors need mopping again this morning. She needs to go to the groomers again. Thank goodness our floors are laminate! I would hate to think what all that hair would do to a vacuum!

Talked to dd yesterday & she only has another 4 shifts to work at the store and then she is taking a month off and then will be going to school. She is getting excited about the change.

Hope Maw & Paw have a safe trip home. And that Billy feels better after his treatment.
Liz

Ahoy There Everybody!

Rambling ...
Thanks NieCiez for oppening the office today. Hope Maw and Paw are doing OK. Know yesterday was stressful.

Jan - Isn't that cooler weather nice? We finally got a break up here too. Now, SunFlower's making out the "Outdoors Honey-Do". *sigh* Gonna wurk me to death!

Tango - Has anyone warned Carnival yet? I would think that they would be entitled so they have time to hire the extra security the Gorton Girls will require!

Joanne - I know it's a pain, but the end result will be so nice.

Donna - We'll be glad to accept any 'extra' tomatos you end up with ....

- - - - -

Cruise Stuff ...

Well, with only 19 days till sail-away and 16 till we leave, SunFlower's (finally) started her packing. "Packing for a 14-Day Alaska is so much harder that packing for a 7-Day Caribbean ..."

(Gee, ya think?) "Ah, SunFlower?"

"Yes, Calgon?"

"Are you using the UPL?"

" ... no ..."

My packing was done (except for toiletries) two weeks ago ...

- - - - -

On that note - Some of you may have seen BoatBoy's postings about joining SinFlower, GloBug, Gordon and I on this cruise. Just thought I'd warn ya'll ... there's a better than even chance that he's pulling what we Southerners call a "Ho-Axe". It looks like he's just trying (again) to get me geeked up. Not going to happen ... Check my response to his "One Person's Loss ..." posting. Appears that it's "put-up or shut-up" time.

- - - - -

Whoops ... gotta go. SunFlower is having a stress attack with the packing .... "Does this skirt make my butt look big?" ... I'm head out of the house. Not going to fall for that one!

Maw & Paw made it here safe and sound yesterday. Feed them some taco salad for dinner.
Maw & I got Bill to VA this AM, he was a little sore when we left. Paw was waiting when we got home to head South. They headed out from here around 11:30, hope they have a safe trip home.
Had a little rain shower shortly after they left, so now it is nice and sticky outside.

Good day Maw’s stand-in.. and ramble gang..
I think I am gonna make that chicken my avatar if things do not smooth out soon.:madd:<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Today has been spent working on the stained glass.. resting.. working on the stained glass..resting.. working.. cussing.<o></o>
<o></o>
For a “simple†project.. it sure is giving me a fit.<o></o>
There is a centerpiece of clear glass, with the wedding announcement behind it. Cutting the heart was a real challenge when you do not have one of the band saws.. and are using a grinding wheel.<o></o>
Then I figured that I would cut a solid red heart as a backing for it. So that the back of the invitation would not show.. more cussing.<o></o>
Now I have two pieces of glass with an invite in the middle. This is a job for the ½ inch copper foil.<o></o>
But it turns out that this roll will not stick!
So I tear it all off, get the smart idea that I can use new foil and a dab or two of clear nail polish to adhere it until I can do the edges with the 7/32 foil.<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Things were going well until I noticed that there was a small amount of seepage onto the paper
So I walk away and give it time to dry.. hoping that it will dry clear.<o></o>
It did not..<o></o>
So now I am here reprinting the invite on matte photo paper..<o></o>
Oh well… I still have three days… :bang:

Thankfully Einstein came home last night and repaired the computer woes..:einstein:<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:DoNotOptimizeForBrowser/> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]-->

<o></o>
Denise, at 5pm, it is 98* and the heat index is 109* hot hot hot indeed.:sunny:<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Jan.. I never thought I would envy you your weather.<o></o>

Terry, that is wonderful news about your sister joining you.<o></o>
Congratulations.<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Cutes.. “DD Jessica is 38 weeks†right now the baby is about 5 pounds, and 18 inches long..
And she must be ready to pop..<o></o>
The 40 weeks is from the date of your last menses so she is all set.... The poor girl.<o></o>
I vaguely remember that at about 7 months.. I felt as if I had been pregnant for years!<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
So are you getting any tips from the flooring people?<o></o>
I am preparing myself for that fun here in the next year.<o></o>

Donna, I am looking forward to the photos of your bathroom.<o></o>
When you say “guys†do you mean that this was done by family and not a contractor?
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Cyndi.. now you see why you need a pool?:beach:<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Hi KK, The heat can really trap us in our homes, can’t it?<o></o>

Corky.. I have started my color coded excel clothing list for our Grand cruise. Please explain..<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Whimsy, congratulations on the birth of your nieces child.<o></o>
And that is some family tree that you are working on.. and it is growing all the time.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Tobyn.. did you win enough to book a cruise?<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Kathy, I am so glad that your news was good at the Doctors.<o></o>
And you are so right in that your DIL is lucky to have a baby that sleeps so well.<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Liz, sometimes I think that they actually had it easier. These days the average mom is on the go morning till night.<o></o>
They work outside the home as well as take care of one. They chauffeur kids and sometimes their hubby. Some of our labour saving devices are traps.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
But I do not regret the A/C<o></o>
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Calgon.. you and boatboy on the same cruise.. the mind boggles. If this comes off.. I feel sorry for Glo.<o></o>
She will deserve extra hazard pay.:hammer:
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Brenda, thanks for the report about maw and paw and Billy.<o></o>
I do hope that the shot helps.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--><o></o>
Well.. the ink is dry on the photo paper.. back to the salt mines…
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->

:cheer:

Maw Here-got home abt 30 minutes ago. We just meandered down the higway syopped in Nevada to eat at Chinees buffet and then at super market and Wally World. Paw had swhopped in Liberty while we were at Va hospital with Billy. I really think that hospital is top notch they have their act together moving you with your fAMILY FROM AREA TO AREA. iN THE HALLS THE STAFF ALL greets you as you meet them. Billy was telling us one Dr stopped him and told him he should not be walking that way as it was going to hurt his hips and they would have to work on them next (this was in hall not his Dr.) He got shots in his lkower back and all together we were there abt 2 hours. Everything was wearing off as we got home but he did not appear in as much pain as he has other trips. He has been able to cut out some pain pills and muscle relaxants.

It was abt 88 at 7 this morning. Thanks goodness for AC in car.

Re3d we had Mexican at noon yesterday at resturant then Daw had taco salad for din din-----I finally whined wnought that she and Billy went and got hot fudge Sundaes think they each had a quarter lb of pecans on them ---so goood.

Maw glad that you are home. Sounds like it was a successful trip.

Liz

Maw Glad you are all safe,,, and home.

Red, I sure hope you get to feeling better.:sunny:
