Good Morning Everyone!

It is a honor for me to open the thread for Maw - it was really sweet of her to ask me. But, If I am too slow one day on opening - help your self to start. I will do my best to be early though.

Sure hope Maw and Paw had a safe trip. Won't be long now before everyone who sails is heading to the port. Hope you all have a safe trip and take plenty of photos to share with us who are stuck here!

Had a busy night last night. Colleen and Nathan came over and her was sure wound up. They went to the local county fair and I think he had way too much sugar! lol He is a cutie though.

I have a doctor's appt. soon - that is why I am up so early today. It is just a rountine checkup from my annual physical - think the doctor just needs an office visit to boost her sales! lol I was actually going to cancel - but got busy at work yesterday - so I might as well go since I have to pay anyway. Our office makes you pay if you don't cancel 24 hours before your appointment. I would like to charge them sometimes for the hour I have to sit in the waiting room waiting for my appt. Oh well.

Good Morning Donna, and all who follow,

It's a lovely morning, I had my coffee out on the patio and watched the birds feeding. Our heat wave broke yesterday, and it sure is nice having the doors and windows open again.

My daughers and grandkids are coming over for dinner tonight, actually, Ria and the two little ones are spending the night. Tomorrow we have another graduation party to attend.

Pleased to hear Maw and Paw had a safe trip. Wishing all those leaving today and tomorrow a safe trip and happy cruising.

It was good to see Maw and Paw made the first leg of their trip with no issues. They will be waiting for the group when you all arrive tomorrow.

It was a humid night here. No rain for us, it went past us again even though we were covered in clouds all day. Today might be another chance of rain but I don't hold out much hope. Then a big warm up for the weekend.

I haven't much new to report. I have just been getting back on some sort of schedule here. Looking forward to the weekend and tuning into the Olympics from time to time.

Nothing big planned for the weekend. I haven't spent much time in the gardens I need to weed. But besides the usual errands and housework it will be a relaxation time for me. I have to fill the fridge with diet foods. I've got to quickly take these pounds off I packed on the last two weeks! :grin Mike has pretty much finished up most of the goodies so now we must buckle down. I think he is missing the new dessert every night. He can stand to put a few pounds on, I can't so no desserts!

Everyone cruising together this weekend have a great time. And to those of you also cruising but not with Maw also smooth seas to you.

Goodmorning Donna and Ramblers. A much cooler day on tap here in the DC area with lower humidity. Lots of storms last night but they by-passed us at home though we heard the thunder which had Buck under our feet big time while we wer e trying to put the finishing touches on our packing. The bags are now done and in DD's van. Leatherneck and I drove to the commuter lot together this morning and came into the city on our regular commuter vans. He will bring the Department shuttle over to my office this afternoon and we will get a cab to the airport hotel. DD Jenny will meet us there this evening. DD Mindy is picking up our car at the commuter lot and keeping it at her house.

Been a busy morning putting out fires so that things go smooth while I am gone. My boss isn't happy that I am on leave and my co-worker who we back each other up is in training for the week.....somehow the wires got crossed and she approved both absences from the office. I know it wont be a quiet week...June manages to make her own fires even when things are smooth.

Not much else new....wish you all were going to Alaska with us...y'all take care and we will give you all a toast that is for sure!

Lots to do and I've been kind of lazy the last couple of days so need to get off the computer and quit reading my Alaska Fodor's and Frommer's books and get busy.

Last work day for JoAnn & I before our cruise. Tomorrow we'll take care of the packing. JoAnn has her hair and nail appointments tomorrow as well. Our daughter Stephanie will be furbaby sitting so we don't have to seal up the house.

Lucky Maw will be in Seattle today,not fair,hope she remembered the beer brewery coupons I sent her for her and Paw and gang.How I would love to be at Bad Blanches today in Bainbridge or the Marketplace,or the Space Needle,or the Monorail,or the Smith Tower,or Ivars,or the Ducks,or the Marketplace or Tillicum Island or Pioneer Square or the glass blowing factory,or a dinner cruise or the Dinner train,or Leavenworth,ect. I am just drooling thinking of all her opportunitys today.

Donna, we all appreciate you filling in for Maw while she is away, and I am sure we do not mind it if you are late now and then. even maw sometimes gets sidetracked :grin

H2o Babe.. check out the Bon Voyage by Einstein at the top of the page, it shows all the cruisers faces, and I know that Lisa's was in there, along with when she sails.

It is already 82* here today, and no storms around, so little dog will be happy, and I can get in some more swim time. I am sticking to swimming for an hour each day. And after last night.. I need to swim for the whole day :lol
Einstein took me out to this great Italian restaurant last night. The food is wonderful, and we brought home enough for another meal :grin

Then we had a great talk with Cureveo Rick and Jeanie. Shortly after that, my eyes slammed shut.

My goal for today is the same as it was yesterday :lol

Good morning! Donna thanks for opening shop for us! Today I am pretending it is Saturday and am going to do all my Saturday chores today. We started the day off with a power failure at 4AM, which was a bit nice as it shut off the fan! It was just lasted long enough to make it necessary to adjust all the clocks! Have everything ready to pack a small bag for tomorrow. Need to make sure that the scooter and the camera are all freshly charged to go.
Stay safe. Looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow.

Hi Y'all! Today is Friday, so I'll be celebrating at work. LOL. The weekend will be spent cleaning up, taking K for a nice long walk, and replacing the headlights in my car. Nothing big going on, looking forward to watching the opening ceremonies for the Olympics, and the events themselves.

Good morning Donna! Nice to see you at the office filling in for MAW this morning! MAW will soon be enjoying cool weather !

It has been hot,hot here for the last few days but they are forecasting thunder storms this afternoon so perhaps we will have a little cool off. For myself I'm enjoying the heat.....it's high time we had some!

Nothing huge on the agenda today. There is a huge sale on at one of the local furniture stores so I think we might venture down there after lunch and see if there is a bargain we can't pass up and replace our old and worn living room suite and the chair that the dog dug a hole in yesterday.

Safe travels to all who are sailing this week. Have a wonderful time.

Good morning Donna and the rest of the ramble gang! I'm starting my day off a little later than usual because I stayed up until 1AM to watch the finale of "So You Think You Can Dance". The program was delayed 3 hours in Chicago because Fox broadcast da Bears preseason football game! I didn't think I could stay up that late but I did it! Needless to say, after watching the program for an entire season, I had to know how it ended. I cheated and read the online blogs for Fox so I knew Joshua won, but I still had to watch. This should be a pleasant weekend. 1) I don't have to work this Saturday 2) I'm going shopping for grandson's bday gift and a baby present for a niece's new baby. 3) Sunday our neighborhood is having an ice cream social 4) Saturday would be a good day for an outing (beach, hike, zoo, not sure). Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hi Ramblers. I am checking in late, as usual. We had our company outing today, and I returned home about 1/2 hour ago. It was a golf outing, and a lot of fun as most of us don't golf. We then had a BBQ lunch by the lake. Significant others/spouses/children were invited, which made it even more fun. We had been concerned about the weather as it had called for thunderstorms... but we lucked out and had plenty of sunshine with an occasional sprinkle. I even got a suntan.

We are leaving shortly to go out to dinner with friends. Then, tomorrow, we are meeting other friends who are arriving in Boston on Maasdam, and will spend the day with them. Sunday is for packing, and we fly to Vancouver Monday morning. Our cruise leaves Wednesday, and we are very excited that it is finally here.
