Good morning kids--Corky did you get shook awake this morning? Princess ws sharing much of the history of the Panama canal during our cruise to Mexican Riviera last March and April. It ws so interesting. I too dread the hot hot wether was hoping it would be a little cooler in FEb.. I may be sorry I did not get a balcony so I could sit inside and watch out the window.

I am working on being rady to do some walking again. Tread mill is down and Paw and I both used it yesterday. He had not tried ours before they are putting him on one at rehab for 2 minutes at a time and will be increasing his time as he can handle it. Nice progress for us both.

Work hard everyone so we can have a really good time on the Jewel.

Come join us if you are thinking of booking. Is the week to do so cheaper.

Good morning Maw and fellow Jewels..

We are supposed to get temps in the 80's here today, Spring has Sprung :lol

About P@N@M@..... Maw, we had a balcony last time, and once we started down there we did not use it much at all. That is why this time we went with an inside.
We will have to give this ship the "Once Over" but there should be plenty of places inside with windows and great views.

I know that on the Coral, we went outside on the bow at first, but it was HOT! But if you look at some of the photos taken that time, there was a glass enclosed place above us that was crowded with people in the A/C watching :grin
I then went down onto the promenade deck. I could see a lot from there, and you could get shade
You can be sure that we will scope out the ship for the best views once we are on it.

Good morning cruisers. I took a balcony this time, I heard that it gets very crowded on deck
when passing through the locks and there would be no where to sit.
I think it passes very early in the morning. Having breakfast and watching it pass through at
the same time would be nice.

Maw, I have a balcony, you are welcome to join us if you like, maybe for coffee & donut's.

Good Saturday morning kids. don't know what I am going to have to do to get that little finger to hit the a key. I am going to take a closer look at the video library this morning whIle I am walking on tread mill. Dau before yesterday found I had 3 videos of Alask. I may have one on train in Panama. I wish I had a copy of the movie on Panama they were showing on Princess on Amigos. In our Alaska mvie they were telling abt the great engineering feats -one was Panama Canal, White Pass Railroad in Skagway, Eifel tower and I forgot what else. At lest I will have seen those 3.

We are taking another quiet day here -I did throw the load of washing in. I might get the dust mop run I had planned to buy some floor cleaner yesterday but did not make a shopping list and forgot it.

I am wondering how safe we will be in Cartgena and Hati will they be ports just to view from deck of ship.

Haiti should be safe as the beach is fence in and no locals are allow in, except certain merchants
who allow to sell their wares.
As to Cartgena, if you go in numbers, you should be okay, we are not there too long anyways .

Maw - we will get off the ship at Labadee, Haiti and do the beach thingy all day. But I for one will probably not worry about getting off in Cartagena. I think I will just use that day as an extra ship day. Those are my thoughts right now anyways. Den wants to get off the ship there - we are in discussion. :D

Right now, for what we consider the Two Main ports - Panama Canal and Puerto Limon, we are zeroing in on our Ferry ride to the Pacific while on the PC. Then for Puerto Limon we are up for suggestions, but it has to be something that Wilbur & Earline want to do. He has been in such poor health that we can't let them wonder off into a foreign country w/o us. Grand Cayman and Labadee are beach days for us.

Good Sunday morning all- Probably in Caragena we will get out on dock and back on shi at least we can say we have been there. I keep forgetting abt Grand Cayman(maybe because of my first trip there I try to forget it.) If we can get off with scooters (but as a tender port they may not let us) I enjoyed the little shopping mall there near the pier. I certainly left enough money there last trip. Paw probbly won't want to eat on shore if he remembers how high the ticket was for just a couple f hamburgers in the little out door resturant next to port

Paw put out the humming bird feeders on 15th as usual but we have yet to see many. They must be running late this year.

Guess I have to get up and do a little house work.

Anyone new join us this week come on post..
