I am booked on the QE2 on Nov. 4th out of London, going to Spain, Portugal and Cnary Islands. Was Wondering how people feel about going overseas at this time and especially during Election Time. Any Help would be Appreciated.

How exciting for you! I love Europe, and I lived in Spain in 2002 for four months. I always have the strong opinion not to be scared of something you have no control over. They win when we become fearful of them, and they most definitely win when we forego wonderful trips and experiences because of them. (not that i'd be flying to baghdad any day soon:). I would concentrate your efforts on finding great places to see and stay.

BTW- I lived in Spain and although I appeared either Irish, American or German to them, I always dressed as they would. Shorts, tee shirts with words all over them, gym shoes, white/black long socks, baseball hats, and college tees/gap tees----are all dead giveaways that your American. I am proud of being an American for sure and like to dress uniquely, but don't necessarily need attention in other countries when most of them dislike and distrust us. They dress up every day---women in skirts with sandals and men in pants and collared shirts---short or long sleeved. hope that helps
