I wouldn't call Whittier a terrible place but there really is nothing to do there other than a glacial tour. They were building a new hotel when we were there this past summer but there still is nothing else to do or see in the town.Seward has a few interesting things to do and see such as the Aquarium and wildlife boat tours. Seward also has several different places to stay.
