The "official" policy is no booze brought on board. This was the policy before 9/11, or so I was told, but it was not enforced. Now it is, for safety reasons. You might put liquid naplam in a Vodka bottle. Any booze you buy in port, SHOULD, i say should be tagged when you return to the ship and delivered to your stateroom the last night of the cruise. It all depends on who is running the x-ray machine when you come back on board and how busy it is.Checked bags are x-rayed and if they see bottles in your bag, they are within their rights to open your bags and inspect them.I got this from talking to the head of security on the Dawn on our last cruise. I understand from people who have cruised lately, that this has gotten a little lax.I intend to buy a bottle or two from Princess for in room consumption, the couple of extra bucks is not worth the hassle. But purchase mixers (Coke, Sprite, GingerAle) outside and bring it on, much cheaper and they won't hassle you over it.
