As was pointed out, you can order a bottle of liquor from room service. If you order it from the duty free shop, you will not get it until the night before disembarkation. Also, I have seen people CARRY - OUT IN THE OPEN - cases of beer and soda when they board. I purchased a 6 pack of beer at our first stop and put it in a bag and brought it onboard. I never saw attendants confiscating liquor. I enjoy getting the special drink of the day and that is usually enough for me in the afternoon. A cold beer is real good - especially on a balcony! You can also bring wine aboard and there will be a corkage fee if you bring it to the dining table. If you don't drink the whole bottle at dinner, your room number can be put on the bottle and available for the next night.
