Hello All,

I'm looking for some advice. We're trying to decide between the Legend or Destiny for a southern Carribean cruise next April vacation. Any positives or negatives or are they basically the same?

Can't tell you much about either, but whichever you decide on, I'm going on the Destiny in October, so I'll let you know how it is. :) (I know you'll already have your ship booked, but I'll still give you a heads up...lol)

I know Destiny leaves from San Jaun and the Legend leaves fro Fort Lauderdale. Research airfares to see the price of getting you to these ports. Both ships have different itineries also. 1 is 8 day and the Destiny is 7
Also I am seeing the Adventure of the Seas is leaving from San Juan too.

Thanks erica. A review is always nice.

Serene56, fortunately my husband has plenty of frequent flier miles so airfare isn't problem. I do like the idea of going to Aruba again, but in general just like the idea of southern Carribean. I didn't know if anyone favored one ship over the other, but I sure do appreciate the responses.

I sailed on both and love the Legend. It's my all time favorite ship. I sailed the Legend twice out of NYC and Philly so the itinery was different than the one you'll be sailing. When I sailed the Destiny, she stopped at Curacau (sp?), Aruba, St Lucia and St Thomas. These were fabulous ports of call. So, even though I liked the Legend better than the Destiny I liked the ports better on the Destiny. I think the difference is we just had a ball on the Legend. Sometimes the passengers, weather, the moon, sun and stars line up to make a great time. That's what made it a great cruise times two.

Just got back from the Destiny in March and loved it. The itinerary was great and the days at sea were very relaxing. I think it comes down to where you want to go and where each ship goes. It can be said that any day on a cruise is better than any day at work. Enjoy your cruise!!!

I was on the Destiny in 1997, only 4 months after it's maiden voyage. It was great. At the time, it was largest passenger ship alfoat. At first we thought it was way too big (after being on the Festivale) but now I think it's the perfect size. At that time it was going to the western caribbean (cozumel, grand cayman and ocho rios). I think it all depends on which ports you want to visit. Either way, you won't be disappointed.
