Hi everyone. Well, the granite guys came on Friday afternoon (2 hours late) and installed our countertops. They did a great job with everything. The seam at the corner of the L is pretty much invisible. When DW asked where they put the seam I couldn't find it, and I knew where to look! I am so glad we chose a dark color. I also changed the cabinet knobs and faucet to stainless steel so when we change the appliances to stainless it will all tie in. The new faucet & sink really stand out against the dark granite. Here are some pics.

:thumb VERY nice and once you get those stainless steel applicance it will really make it "pop".

Very nice, I have been thinking about redoing my counter's & sink.
I have that very same stove or at least it look's like the same one.

Looks like the "granite guys" stole a bunch of your stuff! - pile of 'stuff', toaster, trivet, cofee maker, disk rack, dish soap, paper towels, utensils and crock, kinves and block, oliv oil, pepper mill, salt & pepper shakers, spoon rest, mortar & pestle ...

Other tan that, it's BEAUTIFUL !!!! Enjoy ...

Hey Calgon, I wish they had taken some of that stuff with them or as I call it clutter (junk). When DW came home from work it was in 2 piles. One pile went back on the counters and the other pile needed to find new "homes". :D I love the simple un-lived in look. (:D But Dw says it looks cold without her ...............stuff.

....ooooooh I love that "cold" look! You made wonderful choices! I love the granite and the colour and I love the sink set under the countertop like that. When we do the kitchen over mine is going to look very similar :grin!!

Oh the difference is amazing, isnt granite beautiful! They did a great job,I got rid of a lot of the do dads on counter just recently, either threw out or found places on bakers rack or cupboards, looks cleaner without all the junk!

Please post once you get the stainless,I want someday to have stainless but our black appliances arent that old and we just got a new washer and dryer so it will be a few years,am hoping for a Tuscan hutch though that I have hinted for for Christmas already to John to replace my bakers rack, more hiding cupboard space than the bakers rack, lol, also trying to convince him to put in glass in several of my door cupboards, lol! I keep the man busy!

Thanks again for sharing your beautiful kitchen!

=love It's all stunning....
and HEY!!..:evil what's my fridge and Stove doing in your House??> ..:grin..almost fell over...it's exactly the same!!. I love flat top stoves, and fridge on top ;freezer on bottom appliances.. we have a re-do set for our kitchen JUST before Mark retires.. and it's identical for appliances all over again!!..thanks for the lovely share!!.....:)..Joanne

Lookin Good Bud. :thumb I am sure U will be VERY happy with your choice. One ??? ... How come when I look harder into that Granite surface I see Cruise Ships??? :grin Clutter Free counters is something that red worships here. :thumb

.

Looks wonderful. I have that same stove, too. They must have made a lot of them!!

I am a clutter junky. I like lots of stuff!

Make sure your granite doesn't emit radon gas. I keep hearing about this on the news.

Thanks everyone, I see we have a popular stove!!
Joanne, if you ever come to visit from Vermont you can do the cooking since you know your way around me kitchen. :lol :lol
As for the clutter, if DW didn't love to cook I would have a leg to stand on. I'm not going to make too much of a stink when the belly is happy. :D
NiteStar, I saw those stories about radon too. The independent study says it is a non issue.
They said the further away from the earths surface you get, the higher the radon gas level. With that in mind. They compared having granite counters in your home to the difference of sleeping on the lower or upper bunk of a bunk bed.

Very nice indeed.

Korina - I have stainless appliances and I do like them but I will tell you that they are very high maintenance. If you want them to look nice they require some upkeep. I am constantly polishing the refrig door and handles and I don't have any little kids in the house. If you have little onesaround I can only imagine that they would be pretty hand and fingerprinted up!
