Robin, you are probably right about the rocking being caused by both the weather and the ship. The newer ships do have better stableizers. Still when your mom said the ship was rock solid even in high seas I wonder how rough the sea was when she cruised? If the water is rough enough any ship will rock. At least that has been our experience and we have cruised about 15 times on various lines and ships. Again, the larger and newer ships do offer a smoother ride.
