I was just thinking the same thing as uppitycats. What about all the other cruisers on the ship ? ! I'd be willing to bet that there already are other people booked on that ship.
Carnival absolutely WILL NOT let you know if there's a big group booked on your cruise. Believe me. I've run into groups in the past. In general, they make little difference to your cruise. Twice I found out, online, about a large group planning to be on our cruise, Carnival adamantly refused to deny or confirm. They didn't turn out to be much of a problem
But, think how awful if you took your family, with little kids, teens and conservative elderly parents on this cruise, and once onboard found yourself in the middle of THAT.: I don't think I could deal with that.
I just checked for sailings on Carnivals web site. There was no Feb 8 sailing listed on the Legend. There was nothing for Celibrity's Hawaiian sailing either. These Bare Necessities cruises are chartered and private so no one else has to see them. TG!
globug...I think I saw the date to be 10/27/2009 on the Carnival Miracle. No matter, the ad says they will be visiting the Bahamas and key West and good luck to them if they think they are going there because on the carnival website it says that the Miracle will be going to Belize and Colon...and THAT would be a MIRACLE if they go a cruise that doesn't exist!
BTW.....My hubby told me that when they go through customs they can rightfully tell customs they have NOTHING to declare!
I wonder if the cruise line charges more, since there won't be any money made on laundering, or any tips made by the baggage handlers. Hmmm, wonder if the stewards wear clothes....
Glo, I gave some long thoughts to a cruise like this.. all of about 3 seconds.. and that "sand" part kinda turned me off.
Plus.. sticking to the chairs on a hot day..
seeing someone come out of a bathroom and sitting in a chair.. marking said chair with a big red X so I will not sit in it :lol
you know how you go to a show and then someone wants to get in.. now if you thought a fully clothed butt inches away from your face was bad,, think again :grin
Yeah, I was thinking about the crowded stairs during the lifeboat drills. Would NOT want to be on a lower step. I guess they would have to bring clothes for excursions!
Flies. RED! LOL! My mind boggled over that one! AND the big red X's on the chairs! I'd have to bring a towel every time I ate anywhere on that ship!
These groups actually charter the whole ship and then sell it for this purpose (nude cruises, gay cruises, special fan cruises). Its normally the whole ship and everything is tailored for that special group.
I too was thinking this was a charter but it is still available for booking by the general public. The itinerary posted on the bare necessities web site does not match the published itinerary for that ship and sailing date either. Very strange :? I do agree John. This would have to be a charter.
I'm betting that some crew persons would be offended by this. I wonder if they have an option to opt out on that sailing. There are some things I don't care to see "flapping in the wind." You can define those "things," if you like. :
I also think there should be chair "protectors" in the dining room and on all upholstered furniture...like the stereotypical NJ/NY grandmas who covered their furniture with plastic. As far as the pool chairs...and the pool...the dreaded Red X will be visible in at least 25% of the female population under age 50...if there are "no strings attached."
These cruises are definitely chartered. If they don't have their quota by a certain date, they lose the charter, I'm sure. Also, I read if they're spending two days in Key West, that means it is definitely not a scheduled cruise. Poor Miracle. I agree with rhen33, most nudists should not be seen naked. Remember Orient Beach???
