Talk about cell phones I remember having a party line where neighbors had to take turns using the phone line and if you picked up the phone you could hear their conversation and vice versa. My daughter had a car seat I believe that our state mandated them around the time she was born. But I remember seat belts were an option you had to pay for in a car back then.
