I would like to bring my steam 'n press iron, is this a good idea or is it impossible to do, since it's a restriction for carnival. Has anyone gone on Carnival with a iron and got away with it? if yes please tell me how? And also is it open 24hrs or is there a time frame?

Hello EAP325, Yes I've done it with no problem, but I won't waste my effort again. Carnival has laundry rooms on several floors with irons and ironing boards . It's not worth the hassle to take a little travel iron, and try to iron on the bed, when the laundry room is easy to get to. Just don't leave any pressing till the last minute while dressing for formal night. The laundry room can be busy then.

I have brought my own iron with no problem. I'm very careful to unplug it when done. I did try to use the iron in their laundry room on mylast cruise, and it was spitting water all over,........thank goodness I tested it first! I went bafk to the room and used my own. I will continue to bring mine!

I called Carnival and asked specifically about a portable "clothes steamer"... they said it was okay.

Now, I'm not saying I'm taking one...what with the laundry service, etc... but just in case, it's nice to know!

On the Victory there were laundry room every other deck. 2 washers 2 dryers in each room. Iron and ironing board. Like previous people stated do not wait til the formal night to do your clothes. (who wants to waste precious vacation moments in a line. I can do that at Disney)
TO make ironing not a chore....pack your clothes in dry cleaner bags. (not all together) take downey wrinkle release and spritz the clothes when you take them out of the suitcase before you hang them. By formal night all wrinkles--if any are gone.

there was a long thread about a month ago that says taking irons onboard was a no no.. You might want to read that thread
