I do have to say I love this new format!

I LOVE Float to the top!

I LOVE that you put the Aft Deck back on top of the forums

I LOVE the larger font (all of us that can't read the small print :lol)

I LOVE that Vista seems to work great with all the new navigation on the board.

I LOVE all the people that have become great friends here (and all those good recipes too)

...and I just wanted to thank you for all the new upgrades :)

Here, here to all above but any idea why I have to refresh my screen all the time to get the light background? My background is dark blue until I refresh my screen.

Mine was doing that yesterday, but now it seems fine. Have you tried turning your computer off and back on? and clearing your cache?

Maybe John knows of a setting that can be changed for you? What version of Windows are you using? XP or Vista?

The background has been changed back to the original blue, we will be experimenting with templates and colors later on but for now if you are getting the light background from the original install you are probably pulling the graphic for it out of a cache file for some reason. If at some point you clear your cache file that will probably go away.
The blue background will be around for a while, right now the focus is on any bugs or hiccups and getting the forums running smoothly, after that come the toys. The modules that control the several of the features that we had in the past are being brought in slowly so it can be made sure they work as error free as possible before the next one is implemented. This is a work in progress so please make your concerns heard, if there is a correction it will be addressed, if not we will try to find a work around till it can be corrected, but in the meantime realize that things are constantly being move around, added, removed or changed so for the next few weeks nothing is cast in stone.

I have to add that I LOVE that I can get to everything again while I am at work. Before I could barely see any threads in the forums section - now I can see them all!

Bob, I believe what ewheelock is talking about is this....

It's not the background (the dark blue border around the posts that she's having trouble with...

It's the background behind the typing of the actual post. Mine was doing that last night.

In other words, the entire webpage is very dark blue (the whole thing), and the typing is black, so you can barely read it. (Today mine is fine, the message background is a cream color, but apparently her's is still looking all dark).

We realize this is a work in progress, and maybe it will correct itself later on.

Sorry, mis understood which background was the issue. In the case of the message block, (also the post block at the bottom) the current and stable background is the same cream color as the old forums with black lettering and a thin orange border around the block and blue links. Anything other than that and the computer is picking up something from within so, yes, a cache and even cookie to be safe clearing should get rid of old files and instructions and correct the color scheme.

Currently all text blocks should be cream color, the main background royal blue, the navigation bars orange.

I, too, had that "dark on dark" color problem for awhile last night, but it corrected itself automatically - hopefully.

I love all the new features also.........add me to the list of people saying a Big Thank You.

I do have one question. This isn't a complaint but a question. I notice that the post area is centered in the middle of my screen. I can just about see about half of the width of the ads to the right of the screen. I have a blue border on the left of about an inch. I assume my screen resolution is not adjusted for the new format. What is the ideal resolution? Thanks!

Interesting. The block the post "print" is in is white since all the changes. I really don't mind it, and everything is very easy to read with the new font. However, based on the above I must not be seeing the color I am suppose to be seeing.

Suez, after reading it again I guess I really didn't explain it well, happens when you even get up tired.
Yes the message block is two tone cream heading section with a white text area, I had forgotten that
I had adjusted my contrast for another project and it made the white area close enough that they
both looked the same. In any case, the message block is cream, cream/white, and definitely not blue.

My problem must be with my work computer. I am going to reboot it at lunch and see if that helps. And yes it is the whole background that is dark blue and the type is black, it is really hard to see but all I have to do is refresh the screen and the colors are correct. My computer at home works correctly so I know it is my machine at work and not the site.

Thanks for everyones help.

This is actually a pretty tough question because many of the sites users have different sized monitors and even the display settings for their display (ie. 800x600, etc. because you can have a big monitor but, have different display settings). The new "standard" is normally 1024x768. The old "standard" was 800x600 but 7.67% of the websites user's still have this setting. This is most likely due to being on older monitors that can't handle the larger resolutions as nice. If your display settings are 800x600 your probably not seeing all webpages (even parts of this site) properly. Most websites are designing them for 1024x768. Web pages can adjust to the size of your screen but with designers trying to put more on a page you'll start seeing a scroll bar at the bottom where you need to view part of the page thats being cut off by your display size.

Here are the top five display settings:

1. 1024x768 46.29% of users use this setting.
2. 1280x800 13.62%
3. 1280x1024 11.67%
4. 800x600 7.67%

I hope this helps.
