Be careful out there in CA it looks as though the storms could be very bad over the next days.  Another good item to have on hand is those glo light sticks.  If we lose the power the lanterns are too bright if it is during the night and we go to bed.  I hang those light sticks in the front bathroom and it makes getting up in the night so much easier than the bright lanterns.  And they are so cheap at Oriental Trading Post.

About 3 months ago I decided we needed some battery operated lanterns.  so we found some on Ebay and then I bought the batteries.  Mike set the batteries aside and the night we lost power for 4 hours he couldn't remember where he put them.  We yanked some out of a portable radio and got one lamp working.  And then he ordered a fresh supply again from Ebay.  Now we have an emergency kit set up.

Well Mike decided with all the Christmas toys and remote controlled this and that the kids already had, that a great gift for Audra would be a year's supply of all size batteries.  She got 358 in total.  :lol  :lol  She was thrilled those things get expensive!  Christmas Eve as we were putting toys together it was so great to know we had every type of battery in abundance.

Just before I left for Boston it was Mike's birthday.  I bought him a weather alert radio/tv combo.  He looked at me and asked do we have any C batteries?  I replied no but I know who has a fresh supply in MA.  :lol  :lol  so needless to say there was another order placed for C batteries for here!  I think we may be all set for a while since Mike found the missing batteries while I was in Boston.  :lol  :lol  :lol

I don't know why I never think about it when trying what to decide to buy for Mike but I think a generator is something I can get for him in the future.  At least we could keep the fridge cold or have warm water for a shower.  Judy making mental note for the future!
