Hi,

I am going on the Empress out of Bayonne to Bermuda on Sept. 4, and I was thinking of using Royal Caribbean's bus from Boston to Bayonne. Does anyone know how long the ride is, and approximately what time I should expect to arrive in Bayonne?
Same questions for return trip - what time does it leave pier and what time do you get back to Boston?

Thanks,
Barbara

Apparently this depends on the traffic on I95 in CT. My wife and on were on the Empress the beginning of July and the bus coming from Boston through CT got stuck in an accident on I95 somewhere in CT. We drove and were ahead of the accident. The bus was late causing the ship to leave about 2 hours late. Also, even if the bus is ahead of schedule you will be waiting at each stop so that the bus leaves at the scheduled time.

On the way home, if you were taking a bus you were among the first off. Since we drove we were the last ones off, and still got home ahead of the bus. We met the bus at a rest area in New Haven.

If you don't mind driving, parking is an affordable $12/day and convenient.

We drove from north of Boston to Cape Liberty in under 4 hours. It isn't a bad drive.....we didn't do I 95.....we went 84 to 684 over Tappan Zee Bridge and down Pallisades Parkway. Not a bad trip. The bus I thought was expensive and you had to wait at every stop. Go down early and do the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. You will love it.
