Well it is just after 6:30 here and the sun is rising. Isn't that great? We have sun earlier in the morning and later at night. What does that mean? We are rolling out of the winter darkness and into spring! yipppppppppeeeee

I have a little housework this morning and groceries but then I'm done for the weekend. Tonight is the Bud Shoot Out. Another sign of spring that NASCAR has returned! Woo Hoo.

I have a couple of movies to watch this weekend. And there is always a book or two lying around which I haven't gotten to yet.
I've decided this is my weekend to relax I have had one bear of a week.

Today is supposed to be close to 60. I can't wait the winds have been so cold for 3 days. I'm opening the windows and letting the air blow through. Another month or so and I can wash windows and do curtains and blinds. I know it sounds like work but for me the spring is such a wonderful time of year I love making old things new again in the spring.

I've been doing my several day clipping of Killian, Today will be day 3. He sits still for about ten minutes so his hair cuts last about a week. He needs a tubby too but I have to get the longer hair all off so that he won't tangle on me.

Well that is about it for me Afters what's happening where you are this weekend? Everyone have a great day.!

Good morning.

It began snowing here in western PA about 5:30 AM.

Right now it is trying to ice over. Soon it will turn to rain. Temperature will get around 40 degrees.

No sun - again.

Good morning,

I'm running late here today, we had a long night of cards last night and those rats got 3 more games on us. We keep score of games won for the entire year. We are behind six now and may play again tonight. We need to win those games back!! My SIL & I are partners against my brother and sister. The competition is fierce!

Now DH is planning on some long distance snowmobile riding today with his buds. They will probably cover a few hundred miles, with some food and drink stopping along the way. So...that means I won't be cooking today...a nice resting day for me.

We've got another very cold day here tomorrow, I'll probably just spend the day watching the dial on the gas meter go around at full speed. There goes all my cruise money =huh

Judy, I used to groom our miniature schnauzer. She would sit for just so long....then that was it. So there were many days where she walked around "half" done. All you can do is a little at a time. I don't care for the way groomers treat dogs sometimes. When I saw them tie a dog's mouth shut while grooming him, that was enough for me.

Well, I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Good mornin' Afters!!

Just goofing around this morning, cleaning my desk off and getting the bills paid or set up to be paid for the month. Everything is in line and I am glad that chore is over with. I may or may not start my taxes. I haven't decided yet and I think I will hold that decision off until have I have breakfast. No need to make a snap decision. Ha!!

I've been reading a Linda Ellerbee book and I really hope to finish that today. She is hilarious and I love her style, and her style of writing.

Here's wishing you have a wonderful Saturday Afters!!!

Good morning
It looks like another nice day I am going to mall this morning I need a few things for cruise. Also need to stop at store on the way home. dd is getting her hair cut this afternoon so it will be her turn to use the car. I expect I will let her use it most of next week for I don't have anywhere special I need to go.
It is hard sometimes sharing but we are working it out. I just looked and kids are off from school next Fri and Mon they are at dead beat dad now I wish he was going to take them that weekend. I know that they will not like it but I would.
Everyone have a great day and keep warm.

Ahoy afters. It's partly sunny here and temps are suppose to warm up to high 50s. Good day to take Buck out on the deck and give him a good brushing. He is shedding terrible already. This crazy warm weather has him blowing his winter coat early...all over my new wood floors :lol :lol

Judy and Reggae, I use to do my own grooming too. I had a Welsh Terrier (Buffy) that I learned on years ago when Leatherneck was a low paid Marine. Then we had our Mini Schnauzer Pepper and I did her most of her life until I starting working in DC and the big commute. My time because too precious and I started using the groomer. I found one that was very gentle. Plus Pepper was super good about being groomed. I am told by the groomer that Georgie is a good boy too. I don't so him either other then brushing and bathing between groomings.

Not much planned today. My muscles are aching from all the work putting the house back to rights yesterday. I am almost there but still have pics to hang and what nots to set on dresser etc. Leatheneck still has to put the mirror back on the dresser. He is working OT today so hope to have that done tomorrow. I am loving the new floors. I do have to go out and get a small area rug to put under my desk chair. Even though the wheels are plastic I am afraid they will scratch the floors. Also, the chair scoots too fast across the floor and one of these times I am going to land on my a$$ when I got to sit down and the chair scoots away :lol The throw will keep that from happening. I've "borrowed" the throw from the front door for now and it works well. I am not putting a lot of area rugs down....I want to see these floors. I just have ones on each side of the bed for when we first step out.

I am also going to have to start thinging about moving cruise clothes into the guest room. We've put off our company coming to visit till after the cruise so I can do that anytime now. I may start putzing with that today, may also run to Wally World for sun screen and that rug.

That's all on the agenda here. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Denise - it sounds like your house is quicky getting put into great shape. And your floors sound great. How do the dogs like them? Bet they do a lot of slipping and sliding! I love our laminate floors. Great for the wheel-chair and so easy to spot something when you drop it. Seems to cut down on the dust so it is easier for those with allergies.

Good Morning All - Late start today bad night at work. I have two Mini Schnauzer's and my vet does grooming so that's where they go. Works well. It's time to start thinking about packing etc as we fly out 2/29 for our B2B so will have to really think about what I want to take with being gone 16 days instead of 7 and only 2 50# suitcases will limit things like the no. of shoes. LOL. Have a Birthday party to attend tonight so need to get the lead out and get going.

:wave Ahoy Afters.

I took my sweet time doing a bunch of nothing today..:grin.even snuck in an early afternoon nap,as I was up at 7:30..Wendy the CAT!!..:evil...however sooner or later stuff HAS to happen..
so as we are celebrating our best friend's Gary's 60th tonight..we have dinner plans out..*but* his "favorite cake in the world".. is my Carrot Cake Delight with Cream Chesse Frosting..so the cake is rising right now in the oven, and then I have to make 2# ( POUNDS!). of cream cheese frosting to top it..

we are currently between snow storms, so I ran and bought another 100# of rock salt ,as the North East currently has a severe shortage, and I located some this AM..it's in the garage waiting to be needed..:(. if I had my way it would be in storage till Winter 2009!!.but the ski areas, and snowmobiliers are in Heaven!!

the 3 feet of snow in the last week and a half has been a bit much..I need Spring ,and flowers, but it's going to quite a time till I get some, those 2 weeks in Aruba I am going to be inhaling green grass ,and flower auras to tide me over till May!!..:worried...

churned two loads of laundry, need to scramble in the shower in a bit, get dressed for dinner out, and actually put makeup ,and heels on..=eek..
the last time I did that was for New Year's EVE.. time to get in practice for our vacation in 33 days ..:grin.. when we dine out at our favorite haunts..

Mark and the Boys..have plans to catch their beloved Nascar tonight after dinner, and we have coffee and Birthday cake dessert at another couple who live an hour away who vacation in Aruba with us..so it's the 6 of us for good times, and good food, and extra treat Dinner gala..we girls will end up gabbing while they watch the Zoom Zoom stuff...:)..

Hope it's a nice rest of the day for everyone!!..:)..Joanne

Liz the dogs are use to the hardwood as we have it in the living, dining, tv, breakfast rooms, hallways and kitchen. When I had laminate flooring installed in our old hours 5 years ago Buck and April had a hard time getting use to it. April never did get around to liking it much but it doesn't bother Buck now.
