good and clean place to eat in Ensenada

Need help with finding good and clean restaurant in downtown Ensenada. Will be there in July and we plan on spending a few hours in downtown area. Anybody knows any good restaurant? Name, general location and what to order........................

FYI I don't drink so alcohol is not a factor.

I will also be in Ensenada in July and would like the same information. We are still deciding between going downtown or doing the La Bufadora excursion. In case we end up downtown we'd like to know of a good place to eat. We are going with kids so a bar-like atmosphere won't do.

When are you sailing? I am on the July 12th - 4 day cruise.

I wil be sailing on July 23 for the 3 day cruise to Ensenada. Lucky you...you get an extra day! I'm taking my 2 daughters and their friends and had to go with the short weekend cruise due to their schedules. Oh well a 3 day cruise is better than no cruise! You should be getting your documents soon. Can't wait for mine! Have fun!

I detest smart-ass answers to valid questions so I hope you will not consider my response one of 'those'. However, from what I saw of Ensenada on a cruise in late 1996 (and I realize that is a long time ago as far as travel is concerned), I wouldn't eat in any of the establishments I personally saw. I would return to the ship for a 'good and clean place to eat'. I stopped at three places and ordered nothing more than a beer that I could see them pop the top on the bottle.

I do hope that I missed out on a good/clean place and that someone else will come along to provide you with such a spot but from what I saw I still say the ship is your best bet.

From the lack of response so far, I can only come to two conculsions: nobody ever eats in Ensenada, or there is no good and clean place to eat there. Looks like I may have to take your advise and have lunch on the ship. Bummer.........thought I would get to try some authentic Mexican food.....no big loss here though.......I live in So. Cal and there are lots of good Mexican restaurants around
