you pay for only what you use; sodas used to be free but then again, 20 years ago we cruised the first time: budget line, basic outside cabin and still paid only a few $$ less then now. The one thing that has sky rocketed, which we can't control is port charges. WOW, of course when you do an all inclusive you pay a departure tax from the country you are visiting which is not the case on a cruise ship. It all works out to be about the same. I just like the idea of visiting lots of places in one week. NMNIta
