So, I have some dining questions:

# 1 - When do you all think our Formal Nights will be?

# 2 - When do you think the Best nights to go to one of the Specialty restaurants is? I do not want to miss escargot night in the main dining room!! :D

# 3 - How large are the tables in the specialty restaurants? Do you think the largest holds up to 10 or are they smaller tables?

Corky think the specialy resturants can fix a table any size you want it
Formal nights probably second sea day and next to last should have pulled out a calendar to see on these.

Maw - the 2nd to last night we are in Grand Cayman until 6 pm. The night before that is a Sea day, do you think our last formal would be on that night or the GC night?

On a 10 day cruise there is usually 2 formal nights and they are usually on sea days, probably the third day
and the ninth day. I am sure at the specialty restaurant. they will seat as many as you want .
on a cruise nothing is impossible..
which one are you looking at , both are good

Earl - I am thinking about trying both - but haven't decided yet.

Also, I wonder if on any of the Sea Days, if either restaurant is open for Lunch?

I know on Holland America they are open at lunch time and they charge I think $15.00 to eat.
as compare to $30.00 at night.

My guess for the formal nights would be the 21st (2nd Day) and the 27th (9th Day). I can NOT see them holding a formal night on the last day before we get off the ship as EVERYONE is usually packing stuff away on that day.

Good ????? on what nights would be BEST Corky. Hopefully when this gets into the fall season and they start the Jewel on her winter sailings we can get some dining feedback from those cruising on the Jewel. :thumb

I believe we had a table for 8 a few years back in Portofinos and I think I saw a table for 10. Not sure if they will put many more folks at a table than that as it is tough to service that size party and still give the diners their preferred dining excellence. It is worth a shot though once U get onboard and see if they will accommodate your larger group. :thumb If they can NOT then perhaps U can get 2 table side by side. :)

.

My guess for the first formal night would be the 13rd. to split things up..
and the 27th for the reason that Einstein gave, I have never seen a formal night on the last night of a cruise.. unless they were ALL formal nights :grin

They would never put a formal night on the last day, thats packing night. usually
you wear the clothes that you are going to wear to disembark the next day.
you have to put our luggage out side that night.
