Hi -
We booked this cruise yesterday. The itinerary looks good and the prices weren't bad. It will be our fifth Celebrity transatlantic - all westbound.

We are also booked on Equinox- our first transatlantic! Where do you live? Are you planning on arrivng in Rome a few days before we cruise?
Phyllis and Matt

X(We booked this cruise as soon as it opened to Celebrity guests...and it seems to be very popular on the other board..lol Parrot Pop already ordered a special t-shirt for the occasion.. We did one T/A with RC and this one will be our fourth with Celebirty in 2009 and we have the Connie in 2008...just love those days at sea from Europe

We're from the Chicago area. We do plan on arriving in Rome a few days early as we normally arrive at least a day before sailing.
We were in Rome for 2 days on our Millie cruise this past November - the ship overnighted in Civitavecchia and we opted to stay in Rome instead of going back to the ship and coming back the next day. Even though we spent two days there, there is still a lot to see.

Do you have the name of a reasonable hotel in Rome

Since the ship ovenighted on a Tuesday, we opted to get tickets to a Papal Audience for Wednesday morning. I found a great hotel directly across the street from St. Peters, you just had to walk through the Berini columns. We stayed at the Residenza Paulo VI . The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in Rome that I checked.

As one person has written.. watching the rates go up on the Equinox is better than watching the stock market.. Have no idea why it has become so popular all of a sudden. Some of the guests are talking about the new ship for2010. thanks for the hotel info..

Oh yes - one more thing - we booked the hotel on hotels.com and prepaid in US dollars. We figured that with the way the dollar was going, we would be better paying earlier than when we checked in. I know that when we book the hotel for Rome for this cruise, we will probably do the same - but I think that we will wait until sometime next year to see if the dollar does a turnaround.

We are also booked for this cruise and will be staying several nights in Rome. We just got our air arranged from Miami.

We cancelled our reservation this week. We were hoping for a major miracle with the economy, but being on a fixed income with both of us retired we had to prioritize our travel. And with grandchildren in distant states, we decided that we need to visit them more often.
I wish everyone a good crossing.
