I got this e-mail back from RCCL. Thought some of you fellow shipmates might want to see it. Sometimes they change the entertainers. John

I remember Marty Allen - "Hello Dere" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marty_Allen_(comedian)

Can't wait to get on board. Thnx for the heads-up John.

p.s. My b-i-l is a Hudson...got any relatives in Kentucky?

Thanks John.
Marty Allen, I have had the pleasure of meeting him on other cruises.. and he is great! he will mix with the people, and is easy to talk to. Just an all round good guy..

Not like so many entertainers who are so far above the common traveler :grin

We have had the pleasure of seeing Marty and his wife on a couple of previous cruises. Marty has always been very nice to everyone that came up to him. He would even greet us several times around the ship when we pased by. A really classy gentlemen. Corky, yes I am orginally from Versailles, Ky. Still have family there. I still am a Kentucky Colonel!! Love the Bluegrass state!!! John

Sounds like some interesting entertainment hopefully I will get to some shows this time--I have to learn to stay up later maybe an early nap and then get up and go play!!

John, it sounds as if your experience with him has been the same as mine. I look forward to meeting him again

And BTW..... do you or anyone know what Captain we have on our cruise?

Thanx John for the share and YES indeed it is the same Allen from that comedy team earl. :thumb

Small world! :D Versailles is a beautiful part of our state. We are both Ky Colonels too, certificates framed and everything. We don't hang them on the wall anymore, but did before we remodeled. We'll have to talk once we are on board.

Red, this is what I found out about the current captain on the Jewel. Jewel OTS -Capt James MacDonald (started rotation 2-2-09). The concierge should be Nedere Reed. Not sure on the cruise director yet, Still searching!!!
Corky, I have my Kentucky Colonel cert. framed on the wall and my Kentucky Admiral cert. framed right beside it!! <Grin> Priscilla is also a native of Kentucky. Small world indeed. John & Priscilla

well, we have printed out invitations for the Captain and also Marty.. asking them to our party's..
Hopefully they will take us up on this.
