We have booked a November cruise on EoS in a catagory D cabin located in 7 Aft. How bad is the vibration back there? I believe there is a lounge over our cabin and am beginning to worry about the choice of cabin. Also need recommendations for pre-cruise hotels? Any info appreciated.

The only thing above you are some more cats C's and two AA suites so whoever told you there was a lounge over you is wrong. As for vibration from the props. There is a bit at times when they have the pedal to the metal but nothing to worry about because when it happens you feel it through the whole ship.

We didn't really notice any real vibration. Very light, very quiet. Wonderful ship. We are staying at the Marriott Marina Hotel in Ft Lauderdale for our Sept 13th sailing on Navigator of the Seas. We booked it online through Priceline and paid $50.00 for the 3 star downtown hotel that has the best views of the pier.

I sailed on the Enchantment in October of last year and had an aft cabin on deck 7...the noise and vibrations we had in our cabin were from the lounge under us. By midnight all was quiet though.

Sailing was so smooth on that ship. The balcony was wonderful and we had a great cruise.

Thank you all. I'm feeling alot better about the cabin. Friends of ours have booked an inside cabin directly across the hall from us and I did not want to be responsible for poor choice of cabins.

One more question about the balcony. Are the railings covered or opened?

so you're probably not gonna like my response. We were on Enchtmt 6/23-6/28/03. During the sea day, I had a massage in the Spa (aft deck 9). Vibration was constant. Our cabin was on deck 8 (8027) which is classified as midship but I'd say close to fwd; we felt vibration in the evening (after 9pm) - we weren't in the cabin much during the day (b'c the music from the pool deck was too loud for napping). And there was the 5am wake-up calls that came from the crew bowling (or maybe they were just dragging deck chairs back and forth! above our heads).

For better news - re hotels, we stayed at the Renaissance Hotel (a 4* property in FLL). Got it through Priceline for $74/night (inc. taxes). B'c it's a Marriott property & we are Silver Rewards members they gave us free continental bfast. Also comes w/free shuttle svc.. from apt. to hotel. Taxi to port was ~$8 inc. tip. From what I could tell Ren. was closest hotel to ships. We could see the Enchtmt from the 10th floor windows (ship's view from lower floors obscured b'c of tall bldgs). For New Years Cruise, we booked the Embassy Suites which is just down the road (17th st.) from Ren. Got a room thru Hotwire for $70/ni. Includes Happy Hour, full bfast and free shuttle svc. from apt. to hotel and from hotel to ship. For good insight on how to successfully bid on good properties in Ft. Lauderdale, try BurBunny's web site biddingfun.com

Hi

SORRY TO HEAR THAT THERE WAS VIBRATION

I will try to be aware of that and plan for it

I will bring a pad and put it on the floor and pretend that Im in a vibrating chair

but on the serious side.. Did they give you free parking at the hotel ??? s
you stayed at ??? We are driving and if its free parking it might be worth it to drive all the way to ft lauderdale that night before and stay there

Thanks
