Electronic gift cards how do they work once on board to put toward your onboard spending (Sail and Sign)?

Q: Can I use my Gift Card to set-up my onboard spending (Sail and Sign) account?
A: No, you must use cash or a credit card to establish your onboard spending account. The Gift Card can then be applied towards your onboard spending account at the Guest Services desk.

So will the Guest Services accept a printed copy of a electronic gift card you received by email ?

Your confirmation documentation should be sufficient but to be absolutely safe a call to Carnival customer services to get exact clarification would be worth the peace of mind.
