Drinks in the hot tub

Does anyone know if Carnival allows you to enjoy a drink in the hot tub yet? Last time I went it was forbidden. Yesterday I noticed one of their new commercials showing a couple in a hot tub doing exactly this. This was always one of the little pet peeves I had about Carnival. I know it could get out of hand with some people, but don't penalize the people who sit there and relax and enjoy themselves.

I seen that advertisment myself and thought the same thing... last I was on carvinal it wasnt allowed....
was that ad. for norweigan?..i dont remember

The destiny had a swim up bar, where it obviously was allowed. I've sailed the imagination and the Conquest. The imagination was more a party boat... the people in the hot tubs were served by a select few waiters who served in PLASTIC glasses. The conquest was hit and miss... a few with beer cans... but it was on the conquest that I was told NO alcohol in the pool areas... I had a can of beer in the back sun deck pool in the shallow part. Mind you... no crowds here and it was easier to police.

My opinion is that it varries not only with each ship, but moment by moment... the policy is NO alcohol in the water areas... getting caught is the varriable.

If I remember right there were beer cans floating in the hot tub along with the people on the Holiday last time I was aboard. Maybe one of them got sucked into the motor. This may be why its had so many mechanical troubles lately....
